  • After seeing Satyen's post in another forum, I'm also beginning to think this could be just another mod job.
    IMO Reasons are as follows:
    1. The rider is not dressed in Yamaha wear.
    2. The number plate has nos.written in black-which means privately owned vehicle.
    3. There is a yawning gap near the tail lamp cover-what is that for?
    4. The tyre hugger&extra stuff is too poorly designed for Yamaha standards!
    5. The rear tyre looks too wide, maybe thats why he has changed the alloys?
Oh btw-that rear mudguard looks like an FZ 16's!

@Vaibhav Saigal: You should have stopped this guy right there&asked him!

      • R15 2011

I just checked with one of the company officials-he said this is on the lines of what is going to be the 2011 R15. Could be slightly different, but it is confirmed that there will be a major revamp to the bike. I agree-this is what the bike lacked&the upgrade is logical, since it is 3 years since inception.
Also, the chassis will not be changed, so most of the changes should be backward compatible.
        Lets wait&watch!

          Here are some ra**d lines

"paying an amount over a lakh for a 150 cc engine does not sound good to me because even if its a Yamaha its not worth that price."

          "

"So just try being the wise man. The R15 on the other hand is quite common and in order to make it different from others you need to try new combination of colors,"

"Whereas in R15 its hard to feel any such things(LOOKS) even after the clip-on one has to lay himself on the tank making it way to far to grab them, one cant even find a main stand in it and the indicators are out of question."

"Though the Yamaha people promise a mileage of 40-45 for R15"

The ZMR i not common on the road because it is having a long waiting period....HH guys are not able to produce the product after launch and hence the lack of appearance on the road...

            • Guys there is some screeching sound coming from my bike. The sound lowers when slowed down and increases when ridden

I think the sound is coming from rear...what is it?

I have completed exactly 200 kilometres...

I hope they change the design of the rear tyre hugger.

That review is one BIG joke!

I couldn't help but laugh at these points:

1)The Karizma ZMR comes with the largest disc in the class with a 276mm disc in front and 240mm disc in rear, which score way over the single caliper discs in Yamaha R15- He says ZMR has better braking, when braking is the biggest advantages the R15 has got over competition!

2)while the widest and softest compound tires on the Pulsar 220.
                    -Really?

3)if you are racing in city traffic, dude believe me Karizma ZMR can be way to excellent with the superior balance it maintains.

-Racing in city traffic? ZMR has handling advantage over R15?

4)it(R15) would surely deliver a mileage of 30-35, whereas ZMR Fi technology helps the bike to use the last available drop of fuel

-R15 delivers the least mileage according to him? Less than the P220?(according to his article) And ZMR has superior technology with FI? Does this guy even know R15 is fuel injected?

5)the light assembly on Karizma ZMR is quite weak which may solve the purpose in city but taking it on highway cause visibility issues, replace the whole unit with 12000k double point HID and they work great.

-What the heck? IS he one of those guys who thinks higher HID color temperature means better illumination? Maybe he can see the road better in 12000k purple illumination!

And these are just a few, that entire article is one big joke! Pity on those who might get fooled by that review...and this portal calls itself "India's No. 1 Bike Magazine"! :P

                    • Guys I need a broken/scrapped kabada r15 headlight assembly. I've tried searching in mayapuri junk market but all of the shops there are car parts' shops, can anyone guide me where I might find a broken headlight assembly?

The service centers are your best friends for R15 related scrap. Leave a word with any guys you know at the workshop asking them to let you know if it becomes available.

But still i would like to suggest not to get that fat tyre.
Cost estimated is way too high.
