You gotta be more specific about the problem. It could be:
    1. The chain is too tight or too loose.
    2. There are minute stones stuck inside the disc pads, causing a screeching sound.
    3. Loose nuts on the silencer and exhaust assembly.
    4. Pixies.

Take it to the SVC for the first 3... Harry potter for the 4th :P
Yeah everyone is very eager to know about the new R15...Well I dont want the new R15 to come so soon as I dont want to regret later that why didnt I wait for the new r15 instead got one 10 days back... :P

Anyways the sound is like coming from the rear and its a screeching sound...

The sound lowers when slowed down but yeah its kinda loud and I can hear it easily while riding..

I will check up the service centre tomorrow

BTW..I hope old R15 owners also get some benefit of the new R15 launched. That is an option to make it like the new R15...

    • Engine noise

Guys I have a problem with my R15. There is some noise coming from engine(could be from engine not sure) when I am shifting to 3rd gear, when I start accelerating slowly... this noise it goes like kisssss...kissssss like something is rubbing itself to something else. This happens in the RPM range of 3-4k. When I hold the clutch it does not happen it comes only when I accelerate. When I go to 4th gear it comes for a second and after catching speed it goes off.

First servicing done : 1000 km
      Current Reading: 2271 km

I have been riding her in muddy(read wet) roads a lot these days ... but the noise is recent ....

      • slight sound from the handlebar

        hi all,
i am seeking your expertise and help regarding my R15. i have ridden around 5k KMs on it. the problem is pretty recent. whenever i use the front brake to stop the bike, the handlebar dips-in, which is pretty normal. but, there comes a very slight "kit" sound, seems like there is a loose joint somewhere in the handlebar or the point where it is connected with the front suspension or shock absorber. this is also felt whenever the front wheel passes over any bumps or potholes. the sound might not be that much, but, i can clearly feel that there is something loose in the whole handlebar/suspension/shock absorber set-up.

could you plese throw some light on it?

try cleaning the front sprocket and install it after flipping it 360.might help.
also clean and lube the chain ,after tightening it , with sae 90 pennzoil or motul chain spray.

Tighten the cone set this should solve your problem.

The probl;em seems to be with your chain, as per said earlier get the chain cleaned properly along with both the sprokets and trhen get it lubed and check for the slackness of the chain. if its loose get it tightened.

How many times have you got the chain cleaned, lubed and tightened before this?

As Navnish told you, tighten the cone set and the problem would be solved. Also since your bike has only done 5k kms, this shouldnt have happened at the first place.

Cone set is the main handle bearing upside where u see the crome bolt right behind your key hole and another bearing is under the T of the handle which is not visible. Tightening shoudl solve the purpose.

yeah...i also thought so...the bike being not too old, this problem seems to be a bit abnormal...however, i did get both the bolts and bearings tightened by my mechanic...but, this problem still persists..although much lightly now..but, still it's there....in order to tighten the cone set, does the mechanic need to dis-assemble the whole handle-bars...??

Only once that also in 2700km on ur odo. did you read the manual of the bike when you got her brother . This is O-ring chain, for the first 5000kms on ur odo, you need to get the chain lubricated every 500kms thats what the Pro Service guys out here told me. after that you can pull it to 1000km without getting lubricated, but this also depends on which weather condition you are riding.

if it still there, go to the service center and tell the guys to do a complete check up done, with the whole handle removed. May be one or two ball bearing would have been broken which is still causing it.
