  • @ALL...NEED HELP...my bikes chain was too loose...got it tight today...now whenever i am pushing my bike back there is a whistle like sound...like "knuuuiiiiiiiiii"...any idea from where is the sound coming and also the rear wheel has become too tight to rotate....(and i am sure that it is not the sound from the fuel tank...)

    • @gaurav: Congrats on your ride.. Nice pics there..
      Do follow the run-in instructions..

@SID13: I'm not aware where you're from.. But yes, the older colours (blazing red & black) are being phased out.. So you might wanna grab a blazing red asap from the last few left in your city, else you'll have to choose from the racing colours..

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

You (or the mech) overtightened the chain!!!!
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

Are you sure about this? Coz they seem to be displaying all the options in the website.
I'm worried in future if we break our side fairing, will we get the same color combo or will we have to settle with the striped one!

The owner of Perfect Riders here told me that the older ones are being phased out! Also some members from other locations have heard the same from Yam dealers in their repective cities..
BTW, i don't think you (& ppl owning the initial black R15) should be worried.. The black still exists (with stickering).. Maybe you can buy the side panels & remove the stickers, or maybe they the stickering will be an add-on coz it is also on the tank..
Blazing red guys should be worried, for the body colour panles!

That is still a concern. Side panels on old black R15 were matt finished and the new ones come gloss painted.

Time to add panels & stuff to the difficult to find spares list

I just don't understand what makes those Yamaha guys stop from selling the Air Filters. Bloody hell... I've been waiting for an air filter for over 6 months now and no one has stock ever since.

                    An R15 + K&N = Yamaha Auto Rikshaw.
If that's the sound you want, pls go ahead.

Yeah! You have a point there.. But atleast we'll be able to find black ones to go with the blazing red & graphite black colours..
I'm more worried about the body-coloured panels for the Blazing Red.. Yamaha will surely keep them available, but it won't be easy to find them I'm sure..

Anyways, like you said, guess its time to stock up some of the bigger spares.. Will prolly need a dedicated space called 'R15 Spares' in our garages..

                      • Guys what's the recommended(member recommended) tyre pressure for the R15. I am using the 29/33 setting mentioned in the manual and the bike is bouncing all over the place!! Suggestions needed.

Didn't exactly understand what you meant there by "bouncing all over the place"..
                          I use 30/35 & simply love it..

Bouncing all over the place means even a small pothole is enough to unsettle the bike. I have really slow down the bike over potholes & undulations. Earlier the bike was amazing, the grip was good but i did not bother to check the pressure readings. Using 30/35 would aggravate the bouncy feeling wouldn't it?

Yes! You'll need to lower the tyre pressure IMO.. Since you're currently on 29/33, I'd suggest you to try 25/30 (or a couple of PSi higher) for a couple of days..

                              • ^^^ even at 30 & 35 the tyres are good and don't loose any grip. The bike doesn't bounce. Even at 40+ psi in rear tyre there is no problem. I did that by mistake for 2 days and covered over 900 KMs on all sorts of terrain.

First thing, how are you checking the air pressure? There is a good chance that the place you are filling air from has a faulty guage. Did you get this verified by checking pressure at some other place?

Please get your cone set checked... or may be the cone set bolt is set too tight....

Do your alloys have any bends? get that checked. Also check if your tyre wear is uneven, by any chance.

And finally, the forks for any alignment issues / bends!
