    • Guys..i got a question about the new r15..
By any chance..is the new bike's seat taller?
I remember taking test ride on the old r15 where i could place both my feet on the ground while sitting in a bending position..
I'm 5 8" and on this new bike of mine, i cannot do the same..
      So..can someone compare and confirm?

      • @tintumat - can you shed some light on the issue (pun intended ) ?

Finally after 4600 kms I decided to check what the mileage is - 41.6 kmpl ! Been very happy ever since .....

Yes unfortunately. I just hope I have the bills if they are replacing!

I don't understand how the rear tyre can be used in front, coz the central groove will be missing. Moreover a front tyre is only a front tyre&rear is supposed to be used for rear only.
I have seen some R15s with the 130/70/17" IRC soft compound tyre (see one everyday), but they have lost out miserably on top end.
I would like to see some pics of bikes with the combo stated above, also some feedback from owners about the handling&topend would be helpful.

the tyre along can certainly be replace from rear to front. I guess they are only talking about the rubber...not the alloy. obviously the profile changes by a significant margin...but it can still be done.
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

I have a post in this thread http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post231643 which has shown a rear tyre on new R15. Yes! I am also wondering how can people compromise looks with performance... but till now i have heard no complains from those users who are using it like that...

all i know from the showroom guys is that the yamaha head office has asked them to replace all the position LED's sold till date as some customers had found it to be faulty.

One guy who had this tyre on was quick to point out that he lost the flckability of the bike and that it has become heavy to maneuver. He said he'd change them back to Stock ASAP but he sold his tyres and is waiting for some stock to be available

Thanks for the info. I have got in touch with the Area Sales Manager who has agreed to replace them, I need to hand over the old LEDs with the bills.

Its not that simple, ever thought about why a front tyre has a central groove in it&is also written as front use only?

This guy said the Venkatesha guys did it for him. He was running on stock front tyre&said his bike was struggling to cross 110!

As i said...forget everything and replace the rubber...the rubber can certainly be replaced...the way a bike performs later on is secondary. And obviously there will be adverse effects... but hey..you got a fat front..by just replacing rubber. changing rubber from rear is no big deal..maintaining the same performance is another thing.

                          • Adjusted my tappets , god knows how many times now.

Exactly after 500-800kms of rip ride , i mean 120 + constant , the tappets go haywire.
Iv never experienced this pblm on any other bike othr than this and im bored of adjustin every three weeks.

                            • Owners, I got a ques...I was thinking of switching rides in a few months and R15 is a lucrative option. Considering that I suffer from lower back pain and love touring at the same time, would it be a suitable ride for me? Wanted the ZMA but it's too common now and parts availability is an issue.
