Hii friends, i have noticed that when i start the bike in neutral the RPM needle goes all the way upto 2.5k and then after about a minute it comes to normal position which is around 1.4-1.5k. What could be the reason?? Also can u use Speed petrol for R15??

+1 since it has an engine compression ratio of 10.4:1, you can safely use any 91 octane fuel. Engines with CR>10.0:1 can take 91 octane.Originally posted by jd666 View Post^^ it increases the rev to bring the oil temperature up to operating conditions. And you should use speed with the R15. It will improve the performance and refinement.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Use any petrol , its the same . This aint no sBK to feel that much of a difference in reality .dONE 25k with "Normal fuel " .

^^ you dont feel any difference between normal and premium fuel??? im not even talking about speed 97, just the normal speed 91???
IMO there is a marked difference in performance/acceleration, and engine vibrations, between normal and premium fuel. Even adulterated fuel makes its presence felt very clearly ( experienced it once).

Thanks sir. I have already tried using the Speed petrol. I emptied the tank and filled with 2 litres. I didnt notice any difference in performance but to my surprise the bike stopped after 70.3km, which means i got only a mileage of 35.x . what could be the reason for this?Originally posted by jd666 View Post^^ it increases the rev to bring the oil temperature up to operating conditions. I take the bike to villages where getting petrol is difficult , let alone speed.
There is no difference in smoothness , mileage , power or anything .
I get 42+ with whatever i do . No issues with milage ever.

Its not about riding style buddy. Because with normal petrol i constatly get above 40. And i filled exactly 2 litres according to meter there. It has to be something else...Originally posted by jd666 View Post^^ no explanation mate.. has to be a hard riding style, or incorrect fuel amount ( like you said 2 litres, but maybe you got lesser from the pump).2009 YAMAHA YZF-R15

I differ here!
While using premium petrols like Speed, shell super & XP, I did find the difference interms of smoothness & mileage of the bike. Not just with my R15, but with my both Xtreme's. Little improvement in mileage is there.
And definetly its not with mind, A health human body can make out the difference in smoothness of the bike I suppose. But even its with mind, then feeling no difference could be only because of preset mind.

Lets Put it on the Dyno and leave our minds behind :-)
^^ I still will stick to Normal fuel , cos the bike can manage with it .
