i have never discussed mileage with anyone for my any motorcycle but you getting 42? how much were you getting for P-180V1? i got approx 40-45Originally posted by santoosh View PostI take the bike to villages where getting petrol is difficult , let alone speed.
There is no difference in smoothness , mileage , power or anything .
I get 42+ with whatever i do . No issues with milage ever.

28 - 32 sounds to be a bit on the lower side. With my commute restricted to only in - town riding I was getting 37 - 38 but now with daily highway riding thrown in, Im getting 41 - 42 (on normal petrol :-) )Originally posted by sheelpriye View Posti have never discussed mileage with anyone for my any motorcycle but you getting 42? how much were you getting for P-180V1? i got approx 40-45

How much did your bike run?Originally posted by svjhonda View PostWeird. I started off with 40+ mileage, but now get 33s in town... I also use normal petrol...
How is the Chain + Sprocket kit?
What is the status of the air filter?
How are the tyres?
How frequently do you check for tyre pressure?
Does the bike pull neat or do you find any sluggishness as compared to when it was new?
Check all those things. It is crazy if the R15 gives such less mileage.

The chain and sprocket is in very good condition, Its still on no. 3 (the chain puller) and I've done 11k kms. Tires are also okay, will easily do 16k+kms.Originally posted by HydBiker View PostHow much did your bike run?

I clean my airfilter regularly. About every 150kms. Plus Its time for a new one at 12K kms I guess?
Thing is there is a sidewall puncture that leaks 5-6 psi everyday, so I fill 38psi in the rear every 2 days. That, and maybe the tappets are loose. I still don't hear any metallic clanking/ loose marbles sound, but I'll get them checked... When I regain use of my left hand...You get the point?? :D

Higher octane fuels do tend to give a little smoothness, but they definitely are not leading to any performance increase..atleast not to me! I've used XtraPremium fuel, which was the best(mostly cos it's a premium fuel and hence less adulterated). I've used "Power" fuel too, and my spark-plug died of over-heating even before atleast 2 liters of the fuel was burned. High octane fuels tend to give out additional heat if they're used in an engine that doesn't necessarily require such fuel.Originally posted by jd666 View Post^^ you dont feel any difference between normal and premium fuel??? im not even talking about speed 97, just the normal speed 91???
IMO there is a marked difference in performance/acceleration, and engine vibrations, between normal and premium fuel.
I used Shell Super!Originally posted by HydBiker View Postwhat ever petrol - I fail to find any difference with the R15. BP / HP / IOC / IBP / Shell / Speed / Power / XtraPremium... in cities, towns and even villages. Only things I didn't try are Shell Super and Speed 97.
This fuel gave me the best mileage per liter, but it made me feel like the acceleration was too linear, might be cos of the additives and the higher octane rating. I immediately noticed the absence of this linearness when I shifted back to normal fuel.
I agree with the little smoothness, but it was very less..but don't agree with the increase in acceleration part!Originally posted by riazmomin View PostI differ here!
While using premium petrols like Speed, shell super & XP, I did find the difference interms of smoothness & mileage of the bike. Not just with my R15, but with my both Xtreme's. Little improvement in mileage is there.
And definetly its not with mind, A health human body can make out the difference in smoothness of the bike I suppose. But even its with mind, then feeling no difference could be only because of preset mind.

Maybe it then means that the bike is in a healthy state!Originally posted by onlinesatish View PostWhat if my 220 give the same mileage?
JK! :P

That is what I felt too!Originally posted by riazmomin View PostNo, There was never improvement in acceleration, instead i felt loss of it comprehending the smoothness.
But the smoothness was very little, and I think it can mostly be attributed to the lesser adulteration in these higher priced fuels..thanks to them being "premium"..

guys..
need some help here...
I had given my bike for service recently and from then i feel my bike is not the same when it comes to performance. Ideally, it touches 75kmph at 5krpm on 6th gear but now i see that it touches 75 at around 6k rpm... any advise on this... also, feels the bike is kinda rough... she has done 13k so far.
Some details from the service...
Oil Change - Yamalube
Air Filter Change

Appears to be related to the clutch..apparently there's higher clutch-slip than previously. Maybe it's just the new engine oil which's making the clutch slip a little more, give it some time and see....Originally posted by vijith.unnithan View Postguys..
