    • ^^^As far as I know the position of the horn has been changed in the new R15s. Earliers it was attached to the radiator with the help of a clamp....But due to cases of radiator cracking due to the usage of horn, the position of the horn has been changed...I've also heard that the new horns are bit louder. Is it true???

Anyways it is a straight plug & play fit & boy anyone wishing to change the tyre to fatter one for looks/stability/whatever reason can safely go ahead & do so atleast with pirelli.
also had an oppurtunity to test an R15 with pirelli 140/70/17 but felt sluggish. It was an accident vehicle so might be the reason for sluggishness.
385 kms in last 4 days & it has been a wonderful experience.
Will you please post the pics of the new rear tyre ....

Its not that everyone has a problem with their horns on the old one. It mostly happens when people install aftermarket horns, else no worries.
If you like the Graphite&are getting it, go for it.

what I meant was the speed has reduced due to the normal wear & tear.Initially i used to touch 144 (twice) & 132+ easily (courtesy palm beach road) but as with the aging of parts this is normal.
It still will go upto those speeds after servicing & changing of the chain sprocket & than I would be able to exactly ascertain the effect of the tyre change on top end.
for others yes the stock tyres would be out soon as MRF is going to stop the R15 tyres. This is just overheard news but might be true.
IRCs will be stock for R15.
as of today in Mumbai all R15 tyres are being sold at black rates.

                • best rear tire to handle gravel/slush for R15 ???

I have had 3 quite closely spaced falls so far on my R15,..all on gravel, all due to braking due to sudden obstacle in path, blame myself to some extent and the brilliant roads in Bangalore, I really want to change my rear tyre if it make a significant change, for grip on gravel,..i am not too keen on change in performance/mileage looks etc,as i feel it will only be marginal which is ok,
can anyone pls suggest me the best tire along with size and price if any idea for the R15

                  Thanks in advance

                  • What are the implications of running the tank dry? I know running an Fi system dry screws up the system, i.e you'll have to bleed the system to get rid of the air and will damage the fuel pump.
But just wanted to know if anybody has actually undergone the torture and what are the issues faced. Is there any auto cut-off system built in, such that the fuel doesn't go under a specified level?

Nothing like that.. The system first of all has an electronic switch to measure the fuel level, and the moor starts to suck only when there's a pre-fixed level of fuel available in the tank. And even if you manually dry the tank completely, the motor'll start sucking and pressurizing the fuel until the prefixed amount of fuel pressure is reached in the pressurizing chamber. Just make sure that you fill in atleast around 4 or 5 liters of fuel after drying the tank.

I literally ran out of fuel on one occasion, was looking for a bunk, found it after couple of Kilometers

                        1) Engine was stalling, when it did I pulled the Clutch Lever in. Did happen couple of occasions
                        2) When I reached the gas station the tank was completely dry
                        3) Filled a couple of liters, no problem with starting at all

                        Working fine so far!!!

but if the factory position of the horn is changed for the new version than i should think about the new one...
coz later version always try to remove the previous problems

                          • Dude, u can decide urself depending on your colour choice. I would personally recommend the racing colours, especially yellow which looks good or the sunset red. The horn would not be much of a problem as i have installed a Stebel Nautilus horn which works fine and sounds awesome!!!

I have run many times until the tank became empty. I dont know if this will damage the engine or FI system, but until now i havent faced any issues. I have done 9k kms till now. Generally everytime i maintain only 1 or 2 litres of petrol in tank while in city. Only on long drives i fill up the tank!!!

                              • Excuse the noob question, but do the pilot lights of the R15 run on AC current? Because I was parking my bike tonight, only pilot lights were on, I noticed the lights flickering when the bike was idling.
