They are DC electricals, hence don't flicker. AC electricals don't switch the headlight on without the engine on.

Another thing, the R15 has a compression ratio of 11.4:1 right? Is it advisable to use higher octane fuels? Not that I'm facing any problem, I've been using Shell Super from a long time and its giving me an average of 42-44 kmpl in the city. What about you guys? Will there be any harm in using higher octane fuels in the long run?
R15 has an engine CR of 10.4:1, which means you can safely use 91 octane petrol (above 10.0:1). 93 octane is not available now&97 octane is recommended for bikes above 13.6 CR.

And then there was this dead Dog in the middle of the road which was the feast for a group of crow....I thought of going around the dog widout disturbing the group of crows but when I reached near the dog suddenly a stupid, idiot crow thought of crossing the road without taking a look at the oncoming traffic and then WHAM......something had hit my front cowl @132km/hr and i heard some kind of a plastic cracking......leaned over and checked the headlight but there was nothing wrong with it........after driving a good 600~700 metres i thought of pulling over and checking my bike again....so i stopped by the side of the road and as soon as i put my bike on the side stand, the crow fell near the front wheel....man I was like....the crow was stuck near the radiator area and there was blood marks in the inner side of the cowl.....then i checked the entire inner side of the fairing for any cracks but luckily there were none....finally checked all the electrical operations(horn, headlight etc..) in the bike, cursed the crow for not wearing a helmet and then proceeded to college @ 40~50 km/hr...
Thank God you are safe. Get the bike washed&then take it to a temple also if possible. Crows are not really good omens, you know.

Even i found his R15 bulb's flicker little bit. may be coz of a slightly weaker battery. its there in my 220 too.

^^ Well, maybe we can sorta see the relevance (Bird s and airports). R15s don't just ride fast, they're just flying low!!

              • sarvajit & others:One imp. thing .the fat rear causes the vegetables to be more squeezed (i learnt it the hard way) & requires a re adjustment of your riding posture.

Also managed some nice empty patches of road during sat. tour and managed 138 on speedo w/o any issues

so top end worry has been put to rest

Actually the road was a bit inclined n total load on bike was (60+70)kg.....
Without any inclination the max that I've achieved with a pillion is 130 km/hr but it takes a hell lot of time to reach there...

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

                              • Had been On a 2600kms MH Trip in a week, No engine oil Change , No coolant top up.
A rip ride 90 Pc of the time . Oil level dint drop even 50 ml.
No harshness in the bike . Required lots of chain lube all through the way.
                                25000Kms Done till date.

PS:The Roads in MH are brilliant.
The worst road in MH is way better than the best road in Karnataka.
