All 5 lights should glow up when we switch on the ignition.....
This had happened to me once. In my case there was a disconnected green wire near the battery area.....
So i guess it's either a fused LED or a disconnected wire.

xionite has explained it quite well with the pictorial..
I think your bike's Engine trouble light night not be connected properly or the LEd/ bulb for it might be fused.. Get it checked at SVC at the earliest

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

        • that green disconnected cable near the battery is the ecu control cable which helps set the AFR and also diagnose a problem. It should be connected, and not be loose or disconnected.

              Are you sure about it?
Today i checked that green wire again and found that when it's disconnected the engine trouble LED doesn't glow and on reconnecting it the LED glows...
So does it perform two functions at a time???I'm getting confused....

              • thats because there wont be any feed back going to the meter if its disconnected afaik.

So get your bike checked with the FID tool. iT will tell you which sensor is reporting an error.

                • My first crash

@All: I banged into a pedestrian on my way back from office yesterday. This is how it happened:
I was the first out of a signal&moving at a normal pace (60kmph) when I saw a guy&girl standing on the divider waiting to cross across. I sensed that they would jump in the middle, so flashed the pass switch&honked wildly to them. The girl went back&pulled the boy's hand, he also went up onto the divider. I continued.
Suddenly, I donno what he decided, just as I came in front of him, he pushed the girl's hand away&jumped right in front of me! I frantically showed him my left hand to stop, but he was already jumping across. I squeezed both the brakes...within a blink of an eye, he was standing right next to my face&I realized I had hit him. Fortunately squeezing both the brakes helped in reducing the speed&I must have hit him at about 10-15kmph. Neither he nor I fell down-he was away from there even before I could look at him!
Then someone picked up a few parts lying on the road&handed them over to me-they were the visor&speedo flap. After pulling over to the side (luckily other vehicles were not right behind), I saw that the dome has cracked due to the impact of his bodyweight on the visor. Funnily, inspite of flying away&falling, the visor&speedo flap don't have any damage on them. I am very grateful for the following:
                  1. I didn't skid or fall (R15 stability I guess)
                  2. He didn't get hurt bad or fall (his luck)
                  3. My bike's headlamps didn't crack (that would cost around Rs.2600 I presume)
So now, the dome is cracked&I need to get it replaced. Can someone tell me how much it costs?

I guess you are mistaking me for someone else. Even if so, didn't you read the title of the post? It clearly says 'First crash'!
In any case such things are a part of biking. What matters more is my ability to save him&myself from getting major injuries-that comes after years&lakhs of kms.of riding. In the bargain if the bike takes a minor hit I'm more than fine with it!

Don't post just for the sake of posting&even if you do, post something sensible!

@HydBiker, digislayer, satyenpoojary, tibby etc.: What is the cost of the dome?

Yes, coolant&radiator fan functioning are connected, as if the coolant level is too low or not being supplied to the engine, it will make the engine overheat, thereby causing the temperature to rise, then the sensor will send a signal to make the radiator fan start more often. So, if you find your radiator fan switching on every now&then, you should check your coolant level.

Dude! I hope you're fine.. I don't have an idea about the dome's price. But found this post of your's:

Hope the dome is not damaged-that would cost Rs.300 odd.
Anyways, how did this happen? Be careful with your bike-you seem to have had a couple of mishaps in the last few days!

About your ability, even Im a rider, a driver, and a pedestrian sometimes.. And I know very well how things happen in a flash of sec or in the heck of confusion, how things go on the roads and who do mistakes oftenly. Thats why I nowhere said that the mistake is your's or you should have been careful.

All stated and meant by the post was
-''at this alarming rate people are jumping before you or flipping your stickers, you have to get your whole bike replaced in a month or two because of others mistake!'' it was written in lightweight and meant to be read in lightweight..

When the bike is at idle and you press the clutch lever ( dis engage it ). does the sound of the engine change?? and then when you release it? PLease check and get back.
