Update on 6th Service
I got the 6th free service done yesterday at 9K kms. Total cost Rs.2350 odd.
Works carried out:
1. Rear disc pads changed cost Rs.1115. They were completely worn out&the metal had contacted the disc plate causing scratches. Got it changed immediately. Better late than never!
2. Tappet adjustment, done for the first time at 9K kms.Took 2 attempts to get it right, but throttle response is crisper now&loose marbles sound is almost gone.
3. Oil filter&Yamalube semi-synth engine oil changed cost Rs.430&425. Yamalube semi-synth lasted for about 4K kms.this time. Felt grainy to touch, but could have gone on for some more time. Good considering the high RPM&touring usage.
4. Accessories fitted-number plate bolts&air bulb caps cost Rs.150&120 respectively.
5. Tip to dedicated mechanic Rs.100.
6. The company trained service engineer was there&he examined the idling noise&identified it as faulty clutch housing. Since this is the first case of its kind (there are umpteen cases of clutch bell noise, but this is not the same), he has said that they will order for the parts&it will take 15 days (read 2-3 months)time, as it has to arrive from Indonesia it seems!
7. Chain lubed with Yamalube after 1500kms.
My feeling: The 10K&12K services are expensive, but the vehicle is getting better&better to ride!

The visor is plain not smoked as stated by someone in the thread earlier. The graphics on the tank don't look good at all ! I wish they had left the tank alone.sigpic
