FZ's chain sprocket set cost Rs:1600. Did someone mixed that up ?Originally posted by Sharan_R View PostOh was waiting to hear from you. So what's the fuss about the new price in Chain sprocket costing Rs 1800 or so?Anybody Shed some light please!
Petronas..Um, Next oil change probably!
Petronas oil is really good, should try that.
EDIT: Word of advice, do not change our sprocket set via local garage guys, it is highly recommended to go to the authorized service station. They had removed the entire swing arm to take out the chain, so it's better to be with the authorized guys.Last edited by jigar2speed; 11-30-2010, 01:50 AM.My thoughts are subjected to personal experiences/internet articles. this is a good bike but i would rate yamaha s service spare part availablitiy as the worst
i had an accident which reqd the changing of the petrol tank and the fairings i left the bike at the malad svc on 7 th october and for a job which takes 1 day to complete it took them 40 days
and wen i collected the bike after about 40-41 days the bike parts wernt replaced completely still 1 fairing the side view mirrors and railings were left also the clutch was left loose with the nut not put back
and next day on the bike wouldnt start only a push wud help it start
so basically all they had to do was change parts which takes 1 day but they totally ****ed the bike and till today my bike is not repaired completely and those 4-5 parts according to them they have not received in the last 2 months
they were supposed to call me to inform me about it but till now not a single call and worse thing is that they didnt even send the bill to the insurance guy for the claim where as i had left the original bill with them and today i get a call from the insurance company that your bill has not been received still
all i could say is if this is the condition at malad svc which is the factory outlet all i would conclude is that yamaha has the worst service and keeping a bike for 41 days and till today if the work isnt complete i guess there is nothing to be said and something like leaving the clutch caliper loose so that it moves 360 degrees is really pathetic oh yeah i forgot even the indicators wernt working so this is the work svc does in 40 days oh yeah even the indicators were not workingLast edited by vishalkaul; 11-30-2010, 02:41 AM.

it has always been so, we have to beat their asses to get things done!
you should complain to the workshop manager/dealer and threaten them to contact higher executives if the issue isn't resolved within a week..
its been 41 days and thats hell too much!
may also consider writing to yamaha about this..Last edited by veyron999; 11-30-2010, 09:22 AM.after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

You should directly write to the area office of the yamaha because threatening the svc manager will not do any good...

Hi, just to inform you all, today I got myself a pre-owned R15 (Dec 2008) with some 5k on the odo.
Will post a few pics and a first-impression soon.
Till now its all good, just a little palm pain after my first commute to office (22 kms). Today is the first time I am grateful for the traffic signals, as that gave some reliefs to my palms!Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

Planning to buy
Hey guys, I am Shahnawaz from Delhi, I am planning to Buy R15. But I am thinking if I should wait till January 2011 or buy it now.
I went to 3-4 dealers near my place all saying Blue color R15 is available and can be delivered in 2-3 days of booking. Do the dealers give any year ending discount on R15?
Await your response.
CheersFlying at the speed of Life!

Guys I am getting very less mileage...
I filled up the tank when the fuel gauge was blinking...
Filled up 200 Rs petrol (Speed) ..which is 55 Rs per litre...
Today its started blinking and was showing F - 1.5 Km ..what does that mean?
So i calculated the mileage
30 Km travelled according to trip 1 (i resetted it when filled 200 rs petrol)
So its 30/3.6 ..(where 3.6 is the litres of petrol filled)
So the answer is 8.3 :O WTF?
How the mileage is so less?
Am I checking the mileage the right way?
Please tell me how to checkCheck out my Yamaha YZF R15 Ownership Review

Rule 1: Never trust the fuel gauge completely.
Rule 2: use the tank full- tank full method to calculate fuel efficiency.

Oh dude, CHILL. If you put only 200 bucks of fuel into an empty tank, then there'll be probably 4 litres inside.... the F indicator is to show HOW MANY KMs the bike has done on RESERVE fuel. IT comes when there are 4 LITRES left in the tank. So, basically, you ran 30kms before it hit the 4 Litre reserve mark and showed the F indicator.Originally posted by hardcorebiker View PostGuys I am getting very less mileage...

Measuring mileage before completing run-in is not a good idea. It will give low values. Do it after first service. Put a FULL TANK and wait till F shows up.. see how much your bike did. There will still be 4 litres in the tank, so you subtract that from the full value and you have your mileage.
R15s should generally give 38 - 45 for regular usage.D'oh!
