Cost - 5.6k or so with shipping and import duty.

No replacement of anything. It comes with a extension plate that connects to the caliper mount, and the caliper connects to the extension plate.

The disc is floating type ( the black discs are lock washers ), So no issue of warpage or disc bending.

I think the stock front disc is 260mm or so.
    Just the disk is 5.6K???

          • can you say something about your run-in period which is quite a controversial topic.. i mean including the speed 7 type of riding and whether you should use mineral oil during run-in?? or does it come from factory with mineral or semi-synthetic?

A clogged fuel injector will result in erratic acceleration - at constant throttle position, the bike will cut of and decelerate a bit, then again accelerate and so on. But that will not cause a misfire.
              Nope ...

I noticed another thing today. If the bike is idling and i press the self-start, i hear a mild crank. Then i tried it with the lamps on -> the lamps fade to almost zero during the crank...is this normal ? I doubt it !

              Any clues ??

There is no controversy about running in brother, keep the bike under 4k till 0-800 kms, and below 6k till 800-1600.

I enquired about the engine oil that comes with the bike with the service manager of an authorised service center, and he said that the R15 comes with semi synthetic oil from the start. According to him, the diasil cylinder is really though and needs harder oil to run in properly.

@ All: I want to alter the gearing ratio of an r15 for better acceleration. The r15's stock sprocket is 14 front, and 42 rear. I'm thinking about increasing the no of teeths of the rear sprocket. How big a sprocket can I install? I need a top end of 120-110. Which bike's rear sprocket will be a direct fit for to the r15?

Am not an expert on this but still my opinion would be that you go for the daytona's racing kit light weight sprockets......13/44.......you will get a monstrous acceleration and still you'll be able to attain 110-120 of top whack...!!
Fun begins only after 6K rpm.....!

Why Parth? I want to know if you feel the bike underpowered? as a stock R15 is one of most beautiful machine and if you want good acceleration play with her above 7000rpm, why going for alterations... though its just an advice from my side brother, bike is yours and so is the wish... so if you get it done, do let us know the changes.

No bro, 500kms is not enough. how long is your ride?

Bhaiyya the stock r15 is enough for me. My friend's bike is serving as the guinea pig here, he has put in a 120 sec rear tire due to which acceleration is not there(against my strong advise to retain the stock 100 sec tire). Now he wants betterment in the acceleration, and as his usual ride is just 10 kms of moderate to heavy traffic, he doesn't take the bike over 70-80kmphr, hence I adviced him to change the rear sprocket to a bigger one which will decrease the top end but will improve the acceleration.

I would rather get a big bore kit from Joel and call it a day.

That would cost in excess or 10k easy. Where as a change in sprocket would at max be 500bucks. Got my point?
