satyen i installed up one HID for right side beam because i have configured my both headlights on low mode, but somehow i am observing that the range covered by it is quiet less in high beam too, how to improve on it as i tried adjusting the screw and all but not getting a good result.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostTried two 35W HIDS, rode a decent while with it... check FB for pics.
If you maintain decent speeds you wont have any problem. Its as friendly as the stock.
IMO Two HIDS are a over kill!!

Click a pic of the lamp and the spread.
Most chinese HIDs dont have the cover which restricts the flow of light and bounce it back to the reflectors (I forgot the technical name for it
)
If thats the case, then might as well forget it. Unless you can deflect them to the reflectors.Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

That is coz the reflectors are not meant for HIDs. You will have to live with it or go for projectors.Originally posted by shrinathrao View Postsatyen i installed up one HID for right side beam because i have configured my both headlights on low mode, but somehow i am observing that the range covered by it is quiet less in high beam too, how to improve on it as i tried adjusting the screw and all but not getting a good result.
+1. I have measured it - with the twin pilots converted to LEDs, you have to keep the rpm above 3k and there will be no issue whatsoever.Originally posted by xionite View Postyou won't have any issues whatsoever. keep your revs up.
stick to a 4300K kit... and you'll be very pleased with the twin-setup.Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

Been riding for the past 500kms on Joel's custom air filter for the R15. Must say, there is a very subtle boost in low end torque. The bike is returning a much better mileage and the sound hasn't changed at all. Twisting the throttle at 3k RPM in 3rd gear reaches 10k RPM a wee bit faster than a R15 running on the stock filter. Overall, a good purchase

Can you elaborate on the change in fuel efficiency (earlier vs. now)?Originally posted by ZeNashB View PostBeen riding for the past 500kms on Joel's custom air filter for the R15. & whats the price of this custom air-filter?
My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240
The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Is this a direct fit, i mean just remove the company provided filter and put that or something else to be done?Originally posted by ZeNashB View PostBeen riding for the past 500kms on Joel's custom air filter for the R15. Well, I have ridden on a hilly road for over 250 kms with a pillion, with almost 50 degree climbs (mandalpatti, coorg). I have also been riding in regular city traffic and done multiple drags with wide open throttle operations. I have calculated the mileage and its been returning a good 43kmpl after I put the custom filterOriginally posted by tibby View PostCan you elaborate on the change in fuel efficiency (earlier vs. now)?

Earlier, my bike was returning around 35 - 38 kmpl on highway cruising.
Yes, its a direct fit and is the exact shape of the stock filter. The mesh is steel woven. The brand is called Simota. The filter came with a sticker for the brand as well. You just have to remove the stock paper filter and put this in its place. The box also need not be left open like in the case of the K&N filter.Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostIs this a direct fit, i mean just remove the company provided filter and put that or something else to be done?
There is no change in sound and a slight increase in low end torque. I confirmed that by doing a proper drag with another R15 running on the stock filter and my bike slowly moved ahead of it over the course of the drag.
Something has fallen there and reacted with the paint. Thats what it looks like. Or a faulty exhaust with improper paint coating. Take it to the SVCOriginally posted by hardcorebiker View PostGuys check this what has happened to my Exhaust

At first instant I thought the paint on the exhaust is burnt...
I will take it to SVC just wanna know what will they do? Will they paint it?Check out my Yamaha YZF R15 Ownership Review

Planning to go for R15 soon. Some questions that I have are :Originally posted by ZeNashB View PostBeen riding for the past 500kms on Joel's custom air filter for the R15. 1. The mods like Joel's airfilter, connecting both lights together to work at a time or changinfg the lights to projecter, would they void the warranty?
2. How much would the projecter headlights cost and where can I get it done in Delhi ?
3. And how do I get Joel's airfilter in Delhi?
