    • My bike would be getting an year old on the 16th of feb.....and for the smoothness' sake i'll be going for motul 5100T and ngk iridium plugs....!spitfire cables: necessary? ) And what else should be done at this interval? By the way it would be my last free service. And does the airfilter need replacement every year???

      • Hello Friends,

I faced a issue with my battery on Saturday, Initially i had connected both stock head lights on low beam, but 15 days back i installed 35 watt HID on the high beam in the same format as the old stock where in low the hid and stock headlight used to come on.
As city riding i cant rev my bike beyond 3k rpm so charging was like quiet less but on saturday night initially i got the orange light glowing continously and alter after some time the bike was completely shut down.

Finally i had to sit and remove the wire which was connecting both lights on low beam and do a push start.

Now i would like to know if there is a possibility to put a bigger size battery which can take care of all this issues without doing any major electrical changes.

        • In another 2 days my bike will be doing 1 year.
So, this is kinda 1 year ride report.

          Where do I start.

From the day I bought to this day, the bike hasn't let me down.
It delivered everything it promised and more. All the things I read before purchasing about the bike's performance were true from it's tyres to its engine to its chasis to its stability.

In this 1 year, I had to change the battery. Got it replaced under warranty. Ya, Minda batteries need to go.I have changed the rear tyre.
My bike has done in excess of 22,300 km's as of now.Was lucky to get the original MRF rear tyre.

The only touring I have done on this bike is to my home town which is 287km's from HYD one way. So, it like 600km's to and fro.

I used to ride non-stop 4 and half hours to reach my home.No problemo .. . No issues whatever. In the last one year I have made some 12 trips to my home town on this bike. I have not used the bus or the train to travel home. I don't think I will ever do it again.

          This bike's an excellent tourer.
I am lucky to scrape by just 1 accident in the last 1 year.(touchwood)
Luckily it was in the city .

If there's anything I had to watch out for it was the coolent levels.
Since, I ride mostly in traffic. The fan used to switch on usually. So,
I kept an eye on the coolent all the time.
Other than the Pulsar 220 I don't see any other Indian bike challenging it on the highway.
I know, even if I take this bike out on the road 10 years down the line people will still
          stare at it.
It's amazing what this 150 cc engine can do.It takes time to sink in and appreciate it.
Yet, in a 4 lane road with no traffic one would wish they had a Ninja 250 .
Because, the stock R15 will do between 138 to 145 km/hr and not more depending on wind conditions and road slope.Ya, I am aware of all those R15's doing 150.
My baby's stock.NO performance parts nothing.Same yamaha engine oil too.
          Hope, this honeymoon lasts forever.
          Wishing you all similar experiences.
          Keep the rubber side down.
Yes, I have seen GOD. He wears the no. 46 and rides a Yamaha errr Ducati :)

3k rpm and HID don't go hand in hand bro, you need to keep the revvs up in order to charge the battery. If you cant keep the revvs up then don't use the HID, just use the normal bulb on low beam.
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

stock battery cant handle HID load more than 20 min u can put 5amp battery without cutting anything just u have to remove the sponchy tray which is under ur battry then u can put 5amp batt
one more thing have u got cutout(relay) along HID which save battery current

                  • Can anyone here answer the query below?
it may be a silly question, but i am not aware of it.

Suppose i ride to pune from hyderabad and back on my bike(say a 2-3 day trip).
Do i need to pay toll tax or something as i am crossing the state border?
If a cop stops me in pune will there be any problem as i have hyderabad registration? (i dont think i'll take NOC for just a trip or do i need it?)

                    • ^^

You dont have to pay any toll anywhere. Except may be in some expressways where its mandatory for a bike to pay toll. Apart from that, NOC is not required for a weekend travel to the neighbouring state.

                        Thanks for the info;
In that case, will the cop (in pune) won't create any trouble?

                        • vikas - do one thing lets say you are travelling from hyderabad so you gonna fill your tank, keep that bill with date if possible with time stamp, so cops wont create problems for you.
