again if you plan to put up a DIY thread on how to change oil and oil filter of r15, then post it in the DIY section of xbhp rather than the R15 garage thread. that thread is going downways for some time now. or if you can wait, i'll post one myself. mine's up for the 10k kms oil and filter change and i'll do it within 2 days.
ok. I thought I'd need a torque wrench or something.
Lets see. I'm yet to check on the 19mm wrench. If I have it, I will go & change the oil right away.
Else you may do the honours of posting a DIY thread (I'm really surprised there isn't one yet!!).
I agree to the part in bold, & think the same about this thread.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

yeah, it is 8kms away from 10k and the oil has been there in the crankcase for the last 4000+ kms. and today is a sunday, so changed it anyway. and also i couldnt resist the "coconut oil" kind of smell of Mobil 1 Racing 4T

i'll post the link under my profile signature once its up.

            • Hello folks,

I need a little help here.

              1. I hear a strange sound whenever i put in the keys and turn it on , its like "poooooon" just for a couple of seconds.

              2. I hear a chu-chu sound at speeds of around 70-75 (only while accelarating i have tried shutting down the engine to listen to any sound but no sound heard in that case) , it seems to be coming from the front wheel/ fork assesmbly , i dont exactly know what , the mechanics at the svc center couldnt find out either , they greased the brake (they said the brake sensor may make noise)

              Any help would be welcome.

P.S. I feel a little guilty because i am at XBHP only when i have a question never to answer or share anything .

are you sure its coming from the front end. How many kms on the ODO and when was the last time you got your chain lubed. And did you say "Greased the Brake" kindly ellaborate on this point. Also just for your information R15 has no Brake Sensors. So next time go to a more educated service center if you can.

                • I tht that too , didnt ask much about it , 700 km on the odo , got it service last month, they took off the front wheel and greased the area near to disk brake , and yes the sound it still there , cant be sure where its coming from , it seems to be coming from the front end of the bike

you mean they greased the front axle. Why dont you go to svc, tell them to put your bike in centre stand. and then rotate the front tyre and see whats making noise in there. I would also recommend you to get your chain cleaned, lubed and adjusted. as initial 3000kms on ODO the O-ring needs to be cleaned n lubed every 500kms. Try it and keep updated

Hey how did you tint the front visor? I am planning to do the same.

@Sarvajit - I tightened the top mounting bolt near the engine head today. The engine feels very much like new now - no vibes and even some sounds have disappeared.

                      Thank you!

@all - For the vibes, first point to check are the mounting bolts. There is a post on this thread by digislayer.

the first sound is the fuel pump priming. it is normal for an EFI engine.

the second is the speedo meter sensor assembly rubbing against the wheel hub. it will go away if you pour some oil between the hub and the assembly.

Nope the visor is not tinted. It might look like one but its not. May be the angle with which i took the picture might have given that illusion. But will be cool though. A black windshield with monster energy decals on it
