How you check mileage on R15?
I had tried to check my R15 mileage (1st service still due), I choose below method to check it. senior guys please help me if any better way to check.
1. I started counting km when fuel reserve trip meter mode active (F-)
2. After 5.6 km run, I filled 1 liter petrol into tank and set TRIP-1 zero.
3. Exactly 50.5 km run, again fuel reserve trip meter mode active.
So total km cover within city in 1 liter is 5.6 + 50.5=56.1
Is this correct way to calculate exact mileage?, please suggest.

Need to replace my right side RVM, broke because of my stupidity in not parking the bike properly causing it to fall, the mirror taking the damage. Sarvajit bhaiya, 251/- is right I guess. Will go to venkatesha motors tomorrow and get it replaced.
Btw, got my first servicing done @ pearl Yamaha gachibowli, by the mechanic Jehangir. Bike is obviously smoother now (than it was at 800-900km on odo), revving a little more freely. But I noticed that sometimes there is a delayed response to the throttle input, it wasnt there before the servicing. Can any one tell me why this is happening? (I dread to hear the word 'tappets')
OT: While I was at the showroom, a brand new R1 was being delivered, in the whole cardboard box thing.. couldn't stop staring at the bike til the lucky chap came to the showroom and drove it off by afternoon.

Ok, I will try it. fill full tank ?? mean 12 liter or less then that? I dont think r15 filled exactly 12 liter.Originally posted by bikemanic View Postthe best way to calculate mileage is fill the bike up completely ride it for 200kms fill her up again and see how much petrol it is taking in u will know how much it drank in ur 200kms run

just fill her up to the brim no need to see how much is going in for the 1st time. after riding 200kms fill her up to the brim again and see how much petrol is going in divide the litres from 200kms. eg. say u fill 5litres / by 200kms = 40kmplOriginally posted by JitenMistry View PostOk, I will try it. fill full tank ?? mean 12 liter or less then that? I saw this query, but didn't answer as I don't know what can be wrong. Maybe some experienced owners can shed some light here.Originally posted by bikemanic View Postcan someone pls help me out regarding this ^^^^
@ jiten bhai
haha, yea, thanks, 1 year honeymoon will be nice for us :P
Calculation over 200 kms is good, as the inconsistencies will be evened out over such a fairly long distance, and you will get a good idea about actual average that the bike is giving you.\
EDIT: Just found out that I dont have to get a new RVM, quickfix did an AWESOME job, perfectly aligned RVM!!!Last edited by TnT; 09-25-2009, 10:58 PM.

Underseat Exhaust for R1-5?
Hellow Fellows!
Apologies if the following question does not belong to this part of the forum, however, for quite sometime I have a doubt hovering around about my stock R1-5...Istallation of Underseat Exhaust.
Please check the following pics of Yamaha Vixion of Thailand with custom built under-seat exhaust system and shed some light upon where to get it done to get the same /similar work done to the rear end of the bike here at Delhi. Any idea if KRP provides any such service?
Again, in case this topic doesnot belong to this place, please be kind enough to guide me to the right place to get a relevant resolution.
Appreciate any assistance provided!

Bought the spare RVM for rs. 251/-
Gonna fix it early tomorrow morning, not enough light now..
This question does belong here, or else in the modification threadOriginally posted by killerkp View PostHellow Fellows!

From the pictures it looks really good, what is the performance bump?
I personally have no idea where or how to get this done, sorry.
