This question does belong here, or else in the modification thread
          ---
          Thanks for making it clear

From the pictures it looks really good, what is the performance bump?
          ---
They (Singapore forums) say the pick-up and stability of the bike have drastically improved (No stats quoted), whereas they took care of the handling part by installing the tire sizes of YZF R125 (i.e) 130/70/17 Rear and 100/80/17 Front. The bike not only "Looks" amazing but it's got the Right potential to prove its point as well. And all that on Yamaha Vixion, the older counterpart of R1-5.

I personally have no idea where or how to get this done, sorry.

          No Issues! Thanks anyways!

KP anna do you have any petronas cans left with you, or are you going to order a batch in the near future?
          ---
Guess we have more than one KP here.. moreover I am an R1-5er as well.

First of all are u trying to get this modification because u are not happy with the looks?
          Or
You really needed some boost in performance.?

Dunno bout Delhi but KRP surely does not provide such mod!!

If ur going due to look factor then u must know that if done in unskilled way then ur engine would suffer seriously..
Or if ur going for performance factor then u need some one really good at engines to tune ur bike with the mod.
U have to redo ur bore, stroke,fi,valves, ecu etc! etc!

          ---
Seems like a tough job..However, i am just upto improving the performance of my bike, 'without' hampering/ messing around with too many factory installed settings, at the same time adding to the already good looks.

I spoke to Mr. Kaul (the owner) at KRP today, inquired about the underseat exhaust and the tire/wheel upgrade of R125. He said things are really possible there however, asked to come over along with the bike so that he can make his engineers speak to me and apprise me of the process and the monetary factor.

Now I stay in East Delhi and KRP's like the other part of the world in Naraina, so i'll have to see when can I rob some time to go meet them and get some more info on this.

Anyways, by what you say, if this really needs me to mess around with redoing the bore, stroke, fi, valves etc., then I might aswell drop the idea and look for better alternatives. Got another query, incase this is not possible, then what is the possibilty of insalling a shorter but better exhaust head (Like the R-6 or R125) without hampering the original factory settings?

Is it actually possible to get a Superbike 'like' exhaust note from an R1-5.. anyone achieved it so far?

Here at Xbhp "Joel" is the person u must look for..

Dear Joel! Need your expert assistance here! Come for rescue

I'm kinda new to the community, so plz pardon my silly queries. Just wanted to know:

There's a white R15 somewhere in B'lore. Any idea whose it is? Can I get the details for the work done?

            Thanks
Hey, welcome to xBhp, silly queries is how everyone starts off so its no problem

              Smile!!
Coz ur 2nd query had posive answers.

Yes! U can have shorter exhaust..
Though that too would need some tuning but after that ur ride would be meaner, faster, stronger, leaner and many more "er"..
But if tuned in the right way!

U wouldnt get the company finish like the Fz series and R6 but u would get the steelish look or daytonaish look..
              Bout the sound..man-o-man..
U shuld listen the grunt in em!!!

                        • Guys, can you elaborate something over a financed bike? Coz yesterday i met a local dealer and spoke to him regarding r15...he told me its 1,12,000 for r15. And when i told him that i need it on emi of 1 year..he said i wil have to give a downpayment of 40,000 and with interest rate of 9% wich would get the instalment of 7024 per month...

according to my calculations, i'l be geting loan of 72,000 with 9% interest, right? So that means by the end of the year i'l have them paid 72,000 (the loan amt) + 6480 (that is interest.)...= 78480..
So if we divide the 78480(total amt) by 12 months, the instalments should be 6540...so why is he chargin me 7024 per mth?

you made a flat rate calculation. generally loans are diminishing rate calculations. so it should be even lesser. ask him the correct interest rate and about the extra charges that they generally don't tell about.

Go back and check with him... they might just bluff anything. not even 2-3 in every 100 people verify the numbers.

This link might help with some calculation:

Your calculations are correct! Clarify with the dealer!
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

                              • generally bike loans by yamaha ppl are flat rates and not diminishin. only thru banks its diminishin. dun go thru yamaha showroom guys. get a loan from a bank and then approach for the bike.
