    Got the spark plug + housing adapter replaced an hour ago ... no use. Ignition coil is also fine as per the mechanic. Didn't have to pay as i returned them after trying out, lucky me

    Seems like something else. What can be checked next? Can it be the fuel filter/FIP ?

    The mechanic gave a clear NO to the possibliity of having clogged injectors after taking a ride. He said that if injectors are clogged the bike will not accelerate properly, which is not the case.

      Does the engine malfunction light comes one?

      A clogged fuel injector will result in erratic acceleration - at constant throttle position, the bike will cut of and decelerate a bit, then again accelerate and so on. But that will not cause a misfire.

        Is there something fishy??

        I met with an accident. The bike was seriously damaged even though by God's grace nothing much happened to me. I had given the bike for repair on 27th December,2010 to Eldee Yamaha, Allahabad.
        But I have not got the bike back till now. Whenever i call the SVC guys they say the parts have not come and it will take time.
        Now i wanted to know that is it common problem with part availability of R-15 or there is something wrong.
        I mean that some of my friends are saying that the SVC guys might steal original parts from your bike and things like that.
        I am also attatching the pics of the bike just after the accident.
        Please suggest what should i do in this situation.

            Jesus !!! Must have been a car-hit from the side. You have my sympathy man. I wish you and your bike a speedy recovery. I dropped my bike once while backing her up down a slope. I shouted at myself so loud, people started staring

            Spares have been an issue @ yamaha. Although it should not take more than 1-2 weeks for something to arrive given its a special less replaced part. Keep checking in with the SVC manager.

            I doubt they steal/replace parts with nongenuine stuff. The reputation or even license of the SVC will be at stake if you find out and complain to yamaha about this.

              Nope ... it has not come up since i rammed it into a pedestrian who spawned out of thin air onto the road ... the bike stopped then and there, and the orange light came up indicating engine fault. This happened a month ago.

              I didn't see it blinking ever after that day.

                • u'll need to open out the side fairing panels.
                • and the two black panels on the left n right of the digi-console.
                • you'll need to unscrew the mirror bolts...
                • don't bother removing the steel (star) bolts... u don't need to.
                • four (black star) bolts hold the R15 headlight assembly onto the "stay"...
                • once u do this... u can gently pull the fairing (still attached to the headlight assembly) forward...
                • once it's off the bike... u can then unscrew the fairing off the headlight assembly.


                that's when u can start with correcting the visor alignment/placement.
                it's a pain.

                              The paint shop guy is charging me 450 Rs for original pain on Visor and 250 for Duplicate paint ...I want to paint my visor to black
