That switch is there for emergencies to 'kill' the engine.. So dont worry about it, NOTHING happened to ur bike!

+1 for this. Some riders dont use it at all, dont know why. Its the Engine kill switch and nothing else.

                        • I'd written to Yamaha complaining of too much of vibes and harshness on my bike. Was referred to a Service Engineer at Pacer Yamaha, Bangalore. When he was checking my bike, he took a short test ride and said that the fork is bent. Now I want to know what are the symptoms of a fork being bent..

I thought a fork bend would show itself if you take ur hands off the handle-bar and the bike pulls in either direction. My bike travels in an absolutely straight line. I have a feeling he's just trying to recover some money as he has to fix the vibes for free (Yamaha Head Office complaint na). Removal of fork bend is Rs. 1100/-

I use it everytime i'm at a signal or for short halts too. Its there so you dont have to keep using the key to start-stop the engine. Im sure it has no adverse effects at all, unless the switch is used roughly and the contact breaks or somethin.

I personally use the kill switch at red lights only, i.e. scenarios when I want to switch off the engine for a couple of minutes only. When I have to park the bike , I turn the key to off. I do this because 2 of my friends' r15's engine kill switches had developed problems and they had to fiddle around with them quite a lot to be able to start the bike. One of them is an xbhpian too. Although the engine kill switches were changed in warranty, I say when you're gonna park the bike you WILL definitely turn the key to off/lock, hence no need to bother the kill switch un0necessarily.
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Your bike doesn't have any fork bending or stem/cone issues. I can say that with guarantee coz I rode it pretty recently.
