        Yamaha YZF-R15 150cc Review

What the crap does the writer know about the R15?

He looks more from a commuter class who never rode a sports bike.

Brake pads don't come with an expiry date.
The amount of distance it will last depends purely on your braking habit (hard vs normal), & the condition of the disc plate (a badly scratched disc plate will render the disc pad a lower life)

Have read this earlier. The foolishness of the test rider brightened up my day (just like it did the last time I read it)
I hope he's in a better profession right now. Reminds me of the monsterjobs.com ad featuring people in mismatched jobs.

            EDIT:
            @neoakshay:
I agree with Sarvajit. Your bike is all fine. That SVC guy is trying to fleece you.

            My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Quality is much more better, The SVC guy demonstrated it by bending a fairing fully still it didnt break

Ur a lucky guy! Everyone who's found out about this 'free replacement' of fairings has come up against a wall! including me.. I wonder what Yamaha's upto, only replacing stuff in a few showrooms or somethin?

Write to yamaha, I think its called burning kit or something. Don't email them asking you want the upgraded fairing. Just tell them you need the ones which are coming with nets.

Yamaha sends the showroom the whole box, They take out the new fairing from it and put your old one back.

Did that. Lets see what they say. They usually take 2 days to respond.

That sounds good. So no design changes?
I think there will be some minor difference in the 2011 R15 fairing as well. Waiting for that to come, then my bike will undergo a major revamp in terms of cosmetics, tyres etc.

Thank You, I too use it at red lights and everytime I park my Bike. My concern was that I hit it while at around 30kmph with the throttle slightly open and not while at complete halt. I couldn't figure out my mistake immediately and my heart skipped quite a few beats as I thought the Engine died. Opened the throttle fully in order to bring back the juice and after that I realised that the engine kill switch was hit mistakenly.
                          Will it effect the Engine?

No buddy! nothin's wrong wit ur bike after that, dont worry. I've got friends who shift into Neutral and coast downhill to save fuel, and they stop the engine using the Kill-Switch.

                              Thanks man.
Your friends must have saved a lot me fuel by now;-) at this tough times of fuel price hikes.[pun intended and no offence to anyone]
By the way, I faintly remember reading somewhere that coasting with the engine off harms the engine after a long period of time as proper circulation of lubricating oil is not there. Is it true?
