so my suggestion depends on whether you have a bike at present .. if you already own a bike then u can afford to wait for another month or 2 else if you need a bike urgently then dont think any further .. just go ahead and buy the bike .. there is no point in waiting for the new model which you dont even know if and when it will be released ..
    Exactly!
That's what I felt too. I totally agree in your point! That's why I booked one. But, there is not any calls from showroom yet since it has been almost three weeks I had BOOKED!!!.

            • My R15 almost got stolen today in a span of 1.5hrs.

For those familiar with Bangalore, I parked my bike at the Stayfit premises near Sony world signal, Koramangala and went to some nearby places. When I came back, the lock was loosened from the upper T clamp and was barely held in place. A few more turns, the lock will fall free. Next they somehow disabled the Xenos system - there is no wire cuts anywhere. I am puzzled as to how they disabled it. It does not work at all now.

By some twist of luck, I came back in time to find the bike still there. I am planning to put in a few switches hidden inside the fairing which will need to be switched ON for the bike to start.

Any other idea to prevent theft? Also, am I correct in assuming that the thieves break the lock, hot-wire the ignition and ride the bike away - that is they do not use something like a truck to tow the bike away?

To any one who is familiar with changing brake pads, are the tools given in the tool kit enough for changing the front pads or would I need some extra stuff?
Not sure if the tools are sufficient, but you can do a quick check yourself.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Cant comment upon xenos but I lost my bike keys recently, the mechanic who was summoned took 20 minutes to open the handle lock, 5 minutes to hot-wire the ignition and he said that he had never dealt with an r15 before (wrenches, allen keys all unique sizes ), so we are not safe at all

Thanks for the link bro, appreciate it

Hmm brake oil burns skin? does the temp of brake oil itself gets high when we ride and use brake? I think that for temp to rise, there must be friction between parts and that only happens in case of brake pads and disc. And neither is the brake oil in direct contact with either of them so as to absorb some of the 'hotness'

                    Please enlighten me on this.

Also, I had to give my kinetic honda for a long overdue service so had went to my mechs place and he started some small talk. He asked about my bike and I told him one thing that had been buging me ever since I've got her, coolant consumption. My bike drinks about 300-400ml coolant in every 2000kms, so every month I have to cough up 100-150rs for coolant top up. He said that the service center is using contaminated coolant.

Now come to think of it, the bottle that the svc uses to top-up is always open and they can easily mix water in the coolant and charge me. I talked to some friends who know about cars and they are also of the same opinion that coolant should not be consumed at such a rate.

So if anyone else is facing the problem of coolant burning off at an unusual pace, this might be the reason behind it.

And while we are at the topic of coolants, can we use car coolants which are available at most petrol bunks in our bikes?
And also, can coolants of two different brands be mixed together? Till now I've been using motocool(or whatever mixture of water + motocool svc has been feeding me) so do I have to continue using motocool only or can I use any other brand of coolant and mix it with the existing motocool in the coolant reservoir?
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

                      Please help with the same.

Also crazy people out here say that never to give the bike to the Service center as they change the parts .. i dont think thats true .. but Experts . do u think that they might do so ?

                      • So, I got a little too restless and just checked the coolant level. It was just above the LOW mark and this is when I just had it topped up less than 1000kms ago . Borrowed some coolant from a friend who owns a getz and put it in. I'm unable to recall the brand of that coolant but it wasn't motocool, I hope mixing 2 coolants isn't bad for the bike.

I was getting a burning smell from inside the right fairing whenever the bike was run for 5-10 kms for a couple of days, she was over heating as well. Hope the cause of this problem was the low level of coolant.

ANd 1 thing more, my radiator fan hasn't kicked in at all during the last 10 months or so. It has just turned on once during the entire almost one year that I've had her and that was on the first day of ownership. Is the not kicking in of the radiator common? I feel my bike overheats at times but still the fan does not kicks in

                        • Anytime the bike runs around 10kms or so in city conditions, the fan will kick in. Does the malfunction light come on?

I distinctly remember freaking out when the fan kicked in on the first day, was stuck in traffic and suddenly that weird sound started to come from the bike, went to the side of the road and examined what was wrong and laughed as soon as I realised it was the radiator fan.

That happened on the first day that I got her and since then, the fan has not kicked in. I don't get any malfunction lights, but my coolant level goes down like a bitc*, about 700ml in less than 1000kms of riding. Oh and the bike does overheat a bit more than the other R15s that I've seen.

What confuses me is that malfunction light should come on if the radiator fan is ****ed, and that hasn't happened yet.

Even i have the same problem at present. From the past 3000kms, when i changed the coolant, my radiator fan has not been kicking in at all. Maybe due to this, the engine is getting overheated much more than previously what it used to be. Also, I get a kind of smell but the malfunction light never turned on so i am hoping that this is a minor issue and will look it up at the next service.

How do you propose to cover the gap in the rains bro? The wiring is under the seat!
Unless you already have a single seat cowl-that will cover it.

You are right in your assumption-they have ways&means to disable electronic systems, pick steering locks etc. The only safest way is to chain it, but you cannot do that everywhere you go!
So the next best thing is to find a secured parking spot.
