my bike hasn't seen her first service yet ( blame it on the exams

I will be riding long distance day after so its good to know that all's well.
Thanks for the insight. Will put up pics of my trip soon.
Anyone here a motovlogger? I've been following mordeth 13 on youtube and i really like watching his video blogs

You shouldn't use mobil(used or new whatever), because it'll spoil your chain as well as the sprockets. Rust would go after someday it's pretty normal . Use Motul chain lube.Originally posted by adnansanni View PostGuys My R15's chain gets lots of rust. it was parked without mobil/oil for few days after wash with kerosene and now it has red rust all over on it... Today I was washed it with kerosene again and apply mobil but rust hasn't gone completely. Any idea?
Another question: My R15's battery is totally dead. My bike is 8 months old and done 5000km. The main problem is I couldn't find the battery for R15 in here (Bangladesh), I'm temporary using a Lucas battery 12v 4ahm non-MF. which definitely will die anytime. Is FZ/Fazer's battery will fit on R15?
Like Aditya ^^^ said you can use 5ah or maybe 3.5ah Amaron battrey,if it doesn't fit you can remove the pad in the battery casing.Originally posted by aditaya.chopra View Postbro you can use amaron 5amp battery. it will easly fit in battery box
Motul Chain LubeOriginally posted by sundarvignesh View Postwhich brand would you recommend for lubing and cleaning the chain?

@adnansanni - If amaron 5 amp battery is not supplied in your country you can mail to Yamaha for the appropriate replacement or you can also check for Tata green battery.
Instead of using mobile engine oil for chain lube you can also use used mineral oil from splendor or some 100 cc bike also as they also serve a good purpose.
@mibin - mail the Yamaha back office and tell them to rectify the issue.

So,my mechanic told me to replace the piston ring of a newly bought r15 at 47th day and 1024km only
Since visible smoke was seen through exhaust and some residue of engine oil.
Does replacing means opening the whole engine? Wht further problems it may show in near future by doing this.
I was told that i went hard on my bike during break in period..what shall i do?
They are doing it for free but will my bike be normal again and wont give any further problems?
Pls Help
Arent there alternative solutions to this?

.
Did you really go hard during breaking in???? I don't think it makes that much difference (correct me if I'm wrong).
Hope that it works fine after that because there might be some trouble in the cylinder liner, I'm a noob at all this.
Get it thoroughly checked though. I think it will require the whole engine to be opened up

the chain needs regular care/clean-ups/lubing...especially now the monsoon is coming in here, the frequency might go up a bit...the rust on your chain will go off soon if you keep on riding regularly after properly lubing it...do not use kerosene or mobil on chain..these days, the workshops keep chain lubes in their stores...visit some of them in the town-hall area in Mohammadpur...Originally posted by adnansanni View PostGuys My R15's chain gets lots of rust. it was parked without mobil/oil for few days after wash with kerosene and now it has red rust all over on it... It was bad to hear about the piston rings..But it is too early for a engine job to be done. If bike is maintained properly then the engine needs to be opened up not less than 50k-60k kms. As your piston rings are goin to be changed there are a lot of other things that are changed whenever an engine is opened up. As the svc guys will do the proper job but you have to again go for a running in after the engine work. I request you not to be harsh again with the bike during your second running in otherwise the cylinder walls may get damaged..

SC told me, they are not gonna have new stock of R15's spear parts within 3 months. have to wait or have to manage yourself.Originally posted by Shivanshu View PostWell I wont suggest 20W50 engine oil on the chain, try getting as Motul or OKS O-ring Chain Lube if possible, prolonged damage to the chain can permanently cause the chain to cause problem. SO first rectify the chain problem.
Wow 9pcs of Minda Battery and all dead. are they not going for the new lot. And yeah trying getting the battery sourced.
I've been searching all over the city for Chain Lube since day 1 when I bought the bike, but no luck. Also tried Mobile1 0w50 and gear-oil but they are too thin, after 2 days chain become dry again. So ended up with engine oil 20w50(new).
I wish I have such spray...Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View PostRightly said....never use oil directly....always used specified chain spray!!!
Thanks Brother, I'll look for amaron 5amp, hope I'll find it.Originally posted by aditaya.chopra View Postbro you can use amaron 5amp battery. it will easly fit in battery box
Are the Amaron Battery maintenance free?Originally posted by hellbreaker46 View PostYou shouldn't use mobil(used or new whatever), because it'll spoil your chain as well as the sprockets. Rust would go after someday it's pretty normal . Use Motul chain lube.

So used engine oil (mineral) from 100 cc bikes work fine. I'll try.Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostInstead of using mobile engine oil for chain lube you can also use used mineral oil from splendor or some 100 cc bike also as they also serve a good purpose.
Hey @Ashaq54, how are you? How is your bike going? I'll visit asap on town-hall area. Do you have any familiar workshop there?Originally posted by ashaq54 View Postthe chain needs regular care/clean-ups/lubing...especially now the monsoon is coming in here, the frequency might go up a bit...the rust on your chain will go off soon if you keep on riding regularly after properly lubing it...do not use kerosene or mobil on chain..these days, the workshops keep chain lubes in their stores...visit some of them in the town-hall area in Mohammadpur...Adnan
