  • Got the front brake pads changed, braking is not good right now as they are new I guess. How much time does it take for braking to get normal?

I had a similar issue on saturday, the bike was in my house and was installing hids, to run both in low and high beam, during my testing, the engine was off, after completion nothing, wouldn't even crank, so took the bike outside, got my jump start cables (this was about an hour later) had a shower, thought i'll give it one last try and she fired up, went for a 10km ride to charge, since then no problems.

Do check your battery terminals for a good connection.
Console had power. I can see N. Indicator, lights all r working fine.
If I was pressing the start button, it ll crank but wont fire. Means it ll make the start noise. Thats it. Nothing after that.
Kill switch is working fine. I hv no doubt about that. Will take it svc before any more ride.

hmmm, sounds like a loose connection/dirty contact from the starter motor, or your ht lead to your spark plug, these would be your first thing to check, sometimes a bump can knock something a little loose or even a mechanic may damage a clip on refitting after service, doesn't sound serious though.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

        • Hi friends,

          Please clear my doubts.

Recently went for 3rd servicing of my bike they told that i have to replace my break pads of rear so i told them to replace both as my bike is close to 6000 kms.

Post servicing i felt the bike was not pulling freely for first 30 kms after which it moved but the rear break lever was not tight which i think should be after replacing the pads.

Secondly i had told them to set my head light as my low is in stock and high is in HID but it was like low was hardly 2 feet and high was merely 5 feet.

Any solutions how can i cover more range using both headlights and whether its common to feel the lever loose after replacing break pads.

I tried for next 40 mins...Not any help. Push start did not help..(I hv nvr tried that, may b thts the reason). It was Sunday, so my friend could not get a mechanic. It was evening time. I send my wife home. Got some water. Cooled myself. Poured some water on tank with frustration, another press on ignition and its up !!!
Damn, after 1 hr of all sort of trouble !
Now I am very much worried. I usually go on long trips. If such kind of problem comes, then it will be a big problem. I did not get any battery or engine fault light. Need help urgently. What could be the issue?
Do you use HID or any other things which put a load on your battery? where you getting early warning signs like the red or orange light used to glow while riding and go off?

            • Advice needed

              Dear Friends,

I am a novice biker. I have had R15 for two years now.

I have done 16k Kms, now the tires feel a bit skiddy. Should I change my tires now? If yes, which tires to choose. Nah I am not changing the zappers, just wanted to know if there are any best variants of the stock one's.

I crashed few weeks ago and the handle bar is bent, would you suggest me to changed the handle or just work it.

There are numerous scratches on my bike, can you suggest some trusted/decent paint shops in Bangalore so I can do some custom painting (as my avatar pic).

Thanks for spending your time and offering your help.

                • Goa on R15

I took my R15 to Goa. Before the trip could begin I changed the rear tyre, got the missing foundation bolt back and switched to MOTUL full synth for the first time. That harsh rough engine sound became ultra smooth with Motul full synth. Went via NH17 and came back via NH4.

Stock tyres performance was extremely good. It was so much fun to lean on corners without the fear of skidding. Now its time for the chain sprocket replacement after around 20k kms. Forks are making a loud noise when she goes over even a very small pothole. Pass switch doesnt work and speedometer also stopped working.

An expensive servicing is pending now.

stock headlights not good .. in any case .. adjust the beam using adjustment bolt present behind the headlight

entire chain spoket will cost around 2.7-2.8k .. i changed it at around 30,000kms...

break pads i changed @5k and replaced it with local pads for 300/- both .. [performance not good as stock one] and now clocked 33k kms on odo .. next time i change the pads i'll go for original one
