Today I bought both disk pads. First, Panache Bangalore asked 1100+ for rear one. I called Orion, bangalore to check the prices. It was 690 for the rear pad. Went and bought rear disk pad for 690 and front one for ~430.Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostI Replaced my both rear and front disc pads for 695 and 425 just last friday from YFS Pune.
Also price difference for Engine Oil Filter, Panache 400+ whereas Orion 167.
I guess they belong to different batches (?), but the same productsLast edited by power9; 05-11-2011, 05:29 PM.

Looking at all this price hikes i am planning to stock FS oil cans, oil filter for atleast 6 oil changes and also keep break pads and stock bearings with me so i dont need to run like fool and pay high money to this chaps.
EDIT : has anyone tried refueling their coolant levels by doing DIY way?

tank will cost 4k ... just change that ... i don;t think there is any prob with pump ... if dent is only on tank which not affecting functionality .. then u need to spend only 4k ...Originally posted by retweak View Posti have a dent on the southwest part of the tank considering the tank-cap as center, it'l be around 4sqcm area and 1 cm deep approx. happened in an accident.i plan to change it eventually but heard it costs 8k intotal with pump etc. please advise, on need for replacement and costs.

Even i had thought of this , but the brake pads are not available for counter sale. U will have to get them installed at the SVC . Dunno about the oil though.Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostLooking at all this price hikes i am planning to stock FS oil cans, oil filter for atleast 6 oil changes and also keep break pads and stock bearings with me so i dont need to run like fool and pay high money to this chaps.

You can't prevent it, but can touch it up using black paint or nail-polish, or even a black marker (I use thisOriginally posted by free2rock_50 View PostThe Front Right Mirror has the black paint coming off .. how do i prevent this from happening ? do i have to change the whole thing now ?

Date of production. New ones cost lesser.Originally posted by aditaya.chopra View Posteven my brake pads are in last condition. yesterday i went svc for service of my bike and they cote me 1115rs for rear pads. plz tell me what might be difference between 650 or 1115 one
Yes, the fuel meter is funny.Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostDid anyone of you felt the fuel guage at times shows wrong reading even when the tank is full? I filled my tank full yesterday but i checked that the fuel bar meter was not showing it as full but today morning it showed accurate.
Also i have heard that some people have filled 17 litres of petrol in their R15, wondering how true it is as mine can only take 12 litres
The one's who filled 17 litres either had a custom made large fuel tank, or were taken for a ride by the fuel bunk to the tune of atleast 4-5 litres.
You are right! New ones cost lesser.Originally posted by power9 View PostToday I bought both disk pads. First, Panache Bangalore asked 1100+ for rear one. I called Orion, bangalore to check the prices. It was 690 for the rear pad. Went and bought rear disk pad for 690 and front one for ~430.

Smart decision regarding stocking up. But hoarding is a different thing.Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostLooking at all this price hikes i am planning to stock FS oil cans, oil filter for atleast 6 oil changes and also keep break pads and stock bearings with me so i dont need to run like fool and pay high money to this chaps.

6 oil changes = 18000 Kms (6 x 3000 Kms per change). How long do you think you will complete 18k Kms in?
Keep in mind the oil will not last for donkey years. It will cease to be effective if stored long, & especially if not stored properly.
South-west part! How did you come up with that. Won't the south-west part of the tank change with the direction your bike is facing?Originally posted by retweak View Posti have a dent on the southwest part of the tank considering the tank-cap as center, it'l be around 4sqcm area and 1 cm deep approx. happened in an accident.i plan to change it eventually but heard it costs 8k intotal with pump etc. please advise, on need for replacement and costs.
Why fix something that isn't broken? Replace the tank if you think it is an eyesore. The fuel pump should be ok & wouldn't require replacement.
Yes, my bike is purchased in May-09, & 20P1 series. I got the fairings replaced FOC (Free Of Cost) under warranty 2 months back. It is called the burning kit.Originally posted by JitenMistry View Post@ 2008 Onwers

Do you get the pads for the R15 spec? Even if yes, I would advise against it.Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostHas anyone heard of asbestos based brake pads, i agree they are not original as asbestos is banned.
But i have seen many karizma owners, hunk owners using the same and it lasts same as original and cost 40% less than original.
"it lasts same as original" is different from "it performs same as original". If both are the same in this case, considering a 40% savings, go for it.
My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240
The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.
