7500kms just about normal for both the brakes to wear out . Mine wore out at 6k kms.
The price for the front pads is Rs.410 and Rs.690 for rear one's. They also charging 150 as labour charges at the SVC.
There are usually two vertical lines on the pads, if the lines are deep and visible enough then no need of changing, if not then pads may require a replacement.(Seniors correct me if im wrong with this)

              • Tappets

                Hi guys,

Recently, my bike was falling short of power. Also there was a weird clicking sound from the engine. A yamaha Engineer adjusted the tappets and raised the idle from 1.2k to 1.5k RPM. Its a lot better now in terms of pickup.

But i noticed that the top speed has taken a hit. Earlier it went to 125 without much strain. Now its struggling to maintain 100.

                What could it be ?

Sabari, first of all restrain from using SMS lingo on the forum, its against the forum rules. Your chain tensioner is set as per the length of the new chain. It is definately a disadvantage of having a new chain set at 3 as you are 3 less in adjusting it for its chain cycle, but then you cannot help it.

Rs.1115 for just rear pads ??? Thats too much . I had inquired 2-3weeks back here in Mumbai and was told that the rear one's cost 690rs.

                            • Did anyone of you felt the fuel guage at times shows wrong reading even when the tank is full? I filled my tank full yesterday but i checked that the fuel bar meter was not showing it as full but today morning it showed accurate.

Also i have heard that some people have filled 17 litres of petrol in their R15, wondering how true it is as mine can only take 12 litres

17 litres cant possible at all itz 12 litre tank and fuel gauges are never accurate they are just for indication of approx petrol left in tank.
