Can't say for sure till we get a ride on it though!
Can you confirm on the same? Looking for front 13T,15T and 44T,46T rear for a project. From the pics, the rear sprocket looks similar in size to the current one. AFAIK they haven't changed the sprocket sizes but I frankly can't wait till after the launch to find out in person.

Waiting for a test of that.
The top speed on the stock R15 is quite good (only when riding single on a downhill ) The bike needs a lot of power to stay upwards of 130kph fully loaded with luggage. Hopefully this new R15 won't get owned by the current gen stock R15s.

      • My R15 rear tyre cracked and ate into the tube. Put up a patch and a new tube as a temp measure. But it still gave up after 50kms of riding. Got a new r15 rear tyre for 1600rs today

maybe you are using low beam,
even otherwise, the dealer will replace for free under warranty.

And the heat in your thighs is normal for a running-in engine and mostly fully fared bikes in traffic conditions.

          • Hi,
I have recently brought my Three year old R15 to Mumbai from Hyd. R15 is getting rust quickly here may be because of proximity to sea, Worst is the black paint on the mirror rods is peeling of like any thing spoiling the overall look of the bike. What precautions are to be taken the things go worse.
            Thanks in advance

Same issue here with the paint peeling off from the mirrors. I got them repainted once and solved it. Now over a year later one of them is starting to peel off again. Will get them both repainted soon. Cost me under 90 rupees the first time to get them both painted.

As far as rusting is concerned there's nothing much you can do. From my observations its mostly surface rusting so nothing much to worry about. If you can do some paint touch-up on the particular surface. Do it.

I don't have any problems with this (my ride is over 2 years old now) The mirrors you can get aftermarket copies for around 160 each, the originals are not much more. In future try to maintain a good coat or two of wax on you bike, include all metal expose components (not brakes or chain etc.) This will help somewhat.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Despite multiple coats of wax it wears out. The OEM RVM cost 257 a piece afaik. Not exactly use and throw kind now is it? I don't get aftermarket copies here and prefer to retain the OEM ones. If you consider the pressure washes that I get done at the SVC/outside and rides in very heavy rains it all results in the paint gradually wearing off. My sprocket cover has been stripped off its paint during a pressure wash at the SVC. Picking up a new one soon. Frankly I don't care about these little things on the bike and it hardly bothers me. As long as they don't hamper the functionality of the bike its all good with me.

Even my ride is over 2 years old (Mar 09) and running stronger than ever!

                    • @onlinesatish - you got stock rear Tyre for 1600! i paid 2200 today for one.

I learned today that price of Yamalube 20W40 Mineral has been increased to INR 270 and Yamalube semi-synthetic, i am told is close to 500 (dont know the exact price). FYI - Orion Motors Bangalore have old stock of few Yamalube semi-synthetic - INR 415.

My bike is misfiring. I notice it happening when bike slowly de-accelerates. Gave for service - but the issue is not fixed. Any idea what could be wrong

                        • Coat of wax or a film of oil are the only thing that can save 'any' powder coating in coastal areas. The problem is the alloy being used, it leaves a powdery residue which causes the peeling.

Yamaha have raised all the Spares Price last month.

I used to get the R15 side panels for 550 (On labels) and now its 800 on the Label itself.

Even the Yamaha logo sticker on fuel tank used to cost 27rs and now its about 58rs.

Similar way I found all new stock, spares with a 20-30% hike in price.

this is useful for you _ http://cdrcracing.com/gear_ratios.pdf

well abstractly can be seen as ...
higher the gear ratio more power transmitted but slow speed
while lower gear ratio will cause high speed ...

higher the gear lower will be the ratio ...
so by optimal gear changes you should use appropriate gear to balance between power and speed ...
nothing feels like leaning at 120 km/hr !!
