  • ^^^ Which one???

Do you want the one that has been specially designed for R15 or any tank pad. If you want the one that has been specially designed for R15, it will be available at your local authorized Yamaha dealer. If he does not have it, ask him to place an order with the regional office.

      • Most of the Tank bags from 'known' brands do fit easily on R15. Saddlebags from cramster do fit nicely but it does rub against the exhaust which is not a good thing!

          • To Leh On an R15

            Hi friends,

I am going to Leh next month, all the way from Delhi.

-Please share experiences feedbacks from ppl who have ridden an R15 up there.
-Also any tips and advises will be much appreciated.
-What spare parts should i carry, i already have clutch and accelerator cable, and spark plugs.

I NEED to purchase saddle bags suitable for my R15, plz recommend a few below 2k or not exceeding 2.5k.

At the moment my bike is due for service and following things are on my mind:

-Replace air filter as its due
-Oil filter and engine oil. Been on semi-synth yamalube since after first paid service. My current trusted mechanic is recommending fully synth motul costing Rs.900+. I am a bit confused, plz advise.
-Clutch Work, as the gears are slight reluctant to slot in esp the first few gears; also the pickup is slightly reduced. Seeking tips and advise.
-Rear suspension bush probably needs replacement.
-My front brakes make my anxious, despite bleeding and refilling fresh brake fluid, after i came back from manali last month. Plz advise, as the freeplay is quite big at times.
-Also i think i'll replace my headlight bulbs. They are stock. Plz suggest the brightest bulbs from the best brand in stock model. Plus i can carry the old ones as spare.

I got my darling back in Dec 08, and its clocked 26k. I have had no issues, i have always done regular servicing and maintenance with religious devotion.

            • Guys, unknown fraud by Service guys

I have heard people changing parts of old vehicle in new vehicles so that they can sell the parts of new vehicle for price. These people while servicing show the parts changed in the bill but they never show us what part is changed.

I think we need to build this awareness among ourselves and try to find a solution to it.

I thinking painting important parts like silencer cover, mono shock, handle bars, so on so with special color paint.

I was very concerned when one of my uncle friend was sharing his experiences, when is monoshock got replaced with faulty one.

              Your experieces guys

Well bro its quite possible. Trust and faith in people is blatantly abused, and can never be given for granted. Thats why i have never left my bike unattended, or away from my eye sight ever, when its in for service.

Using special paints etc is easier said than done. It would mean that you would have to dismantle parts and apply that 'special paint'. While i was in UK, the British police was giving away water-mark markers away for free to protect personal belongings. Unfortunately in India it may take the next two or three decade for the police to have such ideas. So the only simple way to avoid such choothiyagiri is to not leave your bike unattended at service centres and give them the impression that you will raise hell if they even have the thought of doing such things.

HID kit looks ok, 8000k is almost bluish i believe, <6000k would be better. Check if it has two filaments.

Stock electricals support 35watt bulbs, so those osram ones wont be good.

                    • hey friends any idea which is the best projector setup for R15 V1, if not other my alternative way would be using 55 watt halogen bulbs without projectors.

One more new problem though my idle rpm is set at 1500 rpm. inspite of warming up good for 15 seconds when i ride her at times the bike engine shuts down in traffic, checked coolant, radiator fans all are doing fine. Could not understand whats the issue.

                      Need inputs on same.

@ FRANTIC - go for 4300 k with projector only as stock reflector wont do a good job for such costly HID.

if thats the case then get the fuel injectors cleaned or else use a fuel injector cleaner like STP.

55 watt halogens will drain the battery faster, not recommended.

The idle should be 1200-1300. That shouldn't shut down the engine anyways. Does it shut down when it's in neutral, is there any sound or jerks before it shuts down? There can be a number of issues, check spark plug, electricals, even the engine kill switch, clutch lever.

I just wanted to know-does slime help in solving slow air leakage problem?
My bike's rear rim has been leaking air ever since the bend. Straightening twice hasn't helped much in solving the problem.
