  • Mechs in B'lore

    Fellow Riders,

Please help me find a good mech in Bangalore who knows an R15 in and out. I'm tired of looking around and trying out different fellows every service. As a last resort I'll try an authorized SVC, only if its highly recommended tho. Thanks in advance.
A good rider has balance, judgment, and good timing. So does a good lover!

    • HID/Projectors

Hello everyone, has anyone installed the projectors and or HIDs on their R15. Chinese or Philips, how are they working, is the light enough? I've read many times that the angel eyes gets melted after few weeks, any idea on that one?

          1: Loosen the axle nut.
2: turn the drive chain adjusting plate. turning in the clock-wise direction will tighten the chain and turning it anti-clockwise will loosen it.
3: measure the slack halfway in between. keep on tightening it till specified slack is obtained.
          4: Adjust both sides evenly.
          5: Tighten the nut.
Do not make it too tight, it will overload the engine.

thanks Man!!! will try it definitely..

some queries, may sound very basic/stupid:
            1. Have you tried it yourself?
            2. Do we have the tool to loosen the axle nut in toolkit.. or need to source it from toolshop.. please specify the size etc.
            3. How much slack should be there?Do we need to tihgten only one side of adjusting plate, or both side..
            4. only tightening the nut will do?.. I have seen my mechanic also adjusting some nut on the right hand side (standing behind the bike), just near the pillion footpeg.. not sure whats that..

R15 rear tyre(ceat tyre 110/90) touches the rear mudguard with the pillion sitting,
changed the rear shock absorber tht costs me around 1800 rs.
but still the problem is not solved.

                • My yamaha r18...

                  Hi,
This is Anish from Navi Mumbai. I used to own a Yamaha R15. Still i have but its little bit different now. Will explain in Detail below.
I am writing this review about my bike as this would help some guys do what they dreamed of their R15. Hope this will help some people to make a powerfUl R15.
I started my journey with the R15 3yrs back.. But as the time went i got bored with the same power same picup, topspeed etc.
Then i started thinking to upgrade some parts for better performance of my bike.. did sum small changes in the starting..Regular changes like Iridium spark plug and Green cotton Air Filter..
Then as usual started to search on net. Saw many things. Many reviews about different people selling different parts.which also confused me a lot in the starting.
Then also started collecting money as i am a college student. Because good and reliable products costs a lot of Money. so instead of buyin something cheap i thought it would be better to wait and get something nice.
Then i came across a guy from Bangalore. As many people here must be knowin him. I mailed him. Asked about everthing. He was kind enough to reply to everything. ya but sometimes as he s a busy person, used to reply little
bit late, But he used to reply. In the starting i found his products nice and reliable. And also quality products. And then i decided to get ECU from him. As that time he was just about to Launch the ECU.
I collectd money and ordered it. Ya i got the order little bit late because of some problems. but ya i got it safely. Was very excited as this was my 1st big move towards upgrading my bike.
Fixed it on the 1st day itself. But as it was stock configured i had to remove the air filter. Then started the bike. Gave the throttle, went for a ride and it was like i felt the difference n the performance of the bike.
Was very happy in the beginning. There was a lOt of difference in the performance of the bike. But the dissappointment started when i checked my average. Ya i know if u need performance then average would go down.
But it was like i used to get 40Kmpl and it dropped to 20kmpl. Then i again called up that guy. He told me that the ECU is running little bit richer in fuel. He told me to return it and he will program it again.
But it was hard for me to wait more. Because i already waited for 1month. Then i used to change my ECU to stock if i needed Average.ya it was a Sad thing to do it all the time.

BuT still my search was on. Still wanted to do more. Then i went little bit International.
Actually one Of my friend spotted some parts on the eBAy.com. I felt that was little different from what i was getting here. So contacted the dealer directly. He was from INdonesia.
His Name is Mr.Haryono Adigunawan. (search on FacebOOK.)
The most Genuine Guy i have seen. So calm. Has a Lot of patience to reply to my all stupid and small small questions. I mailed him. chatted on yahoo. on FB. Troubled him a lot.
As this was a international deal. (Hahaha) Talkin to him will make you all realiase that how genuine that guy is.
This guy patiently replied to all my mails and messages. He had a lot to offer me than what i was getting here in India. Will list it below.
The 1st thing i asked was about the Bore. Here in India i was getting 165cc bore. AS every1 here has mostly done that. So i wanted something different. This guy offered me 180cc.
Was impressed at the startin only. Then i kept askin him about the difference and performance etc etc. I then very well decided to get these parts from there itself. Because the cost at wat i was gettin 165cc,
here i was getting 180cc. who Would'nt think of getting the better one.
Then I started collectin money for the Bore and the matching Camshaft. MR.Haryono Adigunawan was very patient as i made him wait for months. He kept waiting and replying to all my mails.
Then at a point i even sold my ECU as i wanted this badly. I was then ready with the money. Then MR.Haryono Adigunawan himself gave me a idea. I was to buy many things. But i was thinking of getting one by one.
He told me that instead of getting one by one better to buy all at once. so that i don't have to pay the shipping money everytime. Then i got confidence that this guy s not only for money.
Then again kept him waiting for almost 4months. Then i was ready with everything i wanted.
Then paid him the money as he told me. The Things what i got was:
                  1.Bore up kit 180cc (62mm)
                  2.HI-lifted CAmshaft
                  3.180cc (10hole) Injector
                  4.Throttle body (32mm)
                  5.Intake manifold
                  6.TCI Coil
                  7.9Power
                  8.VAnadium Clutch springs
This is what i got for now. All the parts were very nice and clean. Looked like genuine Parts. Very reliable.
There were many more things available with him like the BIG VALVE HEAD, Fully programmable PIGGYBACK ECU. (has self learning capability). Exhaust.eTC.
That would be my final stage.
The most important thing. The delivery timing. I paid him the money and he gave me the tracking ID in 2days. And surprisingly the shippment was at my home in 8days ONLY.
Much faster than wat i saw people gettin here from india itself. The shippment was nicely packed and it reached to me safely. Was DAMN!! excited to see it soo Fast.
Then i went for fitting it. The fitting is done now. Had few problems in the starting. BUt as usual Mr.Haryono Adigunawan was there for me again. Its not like he delivered and his responsibility was over.
Later on also till my problem was solved he was there for me.talking to me everyday and trying to solve the problem. Now everythins fine. Should tell that he has a lot OF knowledge guys. DAMN NICE GUY.
THe biKe s feeling much lighter now. As i cannot write about the performance specs. As its a new bore n all so i have to ride it for around 1000-1500kms below 4k rpm.
Just waiting for it to get over then i can give you guys the performance specs. But 1 thing is for sure that the you will feel the power from the starting itself. Below 4k Rpm also i can feel the difference.
And more thing. Getting a mileage of arnd 35-40 KMPL. WHIch was the most surprising thing. when Asked he told me. THATS THE MAGIC OF THE INJECTOR.
Rite now very happy with the way my bike is Moving. No Vibrations. No heating in lOng distance travelling. Feels as if i am ridin a BIG Cc bike.
So if anyone planing to upgrade your R15 or any other Bike. Do contact Mr.Haryono Adigunawan before making your decision. Who knows he has something better for u for ALMOST the same price.
Atpresent i donno the exact specs. But as said. The bike is now atleast 20-21bhP~(On the crank) (widout the EXhaust and ECU) As he told me after getting the full kit with exhaust, valvehead, ecu etc. it MITE go upto 25-26bhp.
He does'nt tell that its for sure. Because as he says only dyno Chart is the proof which can make people believe. so Will do the dyno and post it later on with full specs.

Now as the engine specs. I call my Bike the MOnster R18. Yes Guys u can really feel the Monster IN IT. !!!
(Thanks fOr reading.. IF any mistakes please forgive me as this was my 1st time i am writing such thing.. :P )
                  Ride Safe!!!

i checked the plug..its okay..clean..and dusty silvery in color..checked my air filter..pretty clean and dust free.. still the issue persisted...
THEN i changed the ecu with my stock ecu..started her up with out ANY hassles..single start..no jerks..no irratic rpm needle behaviour...this means that some thing m,ust be issue with the ecu only....i started experiancing this after yamaha servicing..they do somethng to the timings or idle or something which messes with the race concepts ecu mapping...

The R15 rear monoshock is self-adjusting and doesn't have any adjustments for damping or pre-load.

the rear shock on the 15 is self-adjusting as they call it..it stiffens under load and prevents the bounciness that you normally get on other bikes..
it cannot be adjusted to any setting as ON THE PULSARS..
                          get your facts right!

inform the SVC while servicing about the mods you have done and whether or not you want them to touch your modded parts.

some queries, may sound very basic/stupid:
The rear disk caliper plate on the RHS needs to be loosened to allow the axle to move. Else the axle will not move on the RHS. Yes, both sides needs to be adjusted equally.
