Guess people like freebies and just can't be bothered in the end, how about an official test with the Xbhp mag? the boys cover a lot of ground on proper bikes.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

      • Need Help

Hello Everyone.. hope you guys are doing great with your beloved r15. My first love was p220 and I was also in deep love with r15. But as a student I cant have them both, after 1 year of beautiful moments I had to let go of my p220 and she served me well, I always respect her raw power but really needed to look deeper into the corner and want to feel them. Now my dream is gong to be true. I have found a second hand r15 ( v1 ) which is within my budget.

She has already ran 18000 kms.
Dear Sarvajit, darkknight, satyenpoojary, abhimanyu31 and all respected owners can you guys please hep me out. I know it is painful for you guys to repeat things like what are the basic things to be checked before buying a second hand r15 which can possibly be not properly runned in can have misalignment of swing arm , forks and tires or radiator is screwed up.

Guys my exams are gong on else I would have searched the whole thread for your previously posted valuable pointers.

Can you guys please point me the critical basic things which must check before buying ?

When should I must not choose to buy that r15? like if its swing arm is modified or if its not stock like some guys do things to stick fatter tires which is really bad idea.

I am going to check her out day after tomorrow and if there are no major issues then I will get her before anyone else does and fix her as per your future suggestions ( which I will request later ).

So... please help me out Eagerly waiting for your pointers...

you can go either with semi-synthetic or fully synthetic. a lot has been discussed about the same on xbhp.. simply google it.

            1) Motul 300v semi synthetic 15WX50 single ester: Rs. 450-500. Lasts approximately 3000-3500 kms based on your usage and riding habits.
            2) Motul 300v Fully Synthetic 15WX50 Double ester: Rs. 860. Lasts approx 5000-6000 kms based on your riding habits.

Note: Prices above are based in Mumbai inclusive of local taxes and octroi etc.

Chain lube should be used every 500 kms. Motul chain lube: Rs. 480-500 or OKS Chain Spray:Rs. 185-200 or Yamaha Chain Lube: 400-500.

            Cheers

The single ester Motul FS is the 7100T. And it costs Rs.700/liter. AND the viscosity is 15W50 and NOT 15WX50.

For chain Lube, do try the TVS chain Lube which is the most VFM of ALL.

                • Issue - need help

                  Hello Guys,

I have completed 3000 km on my bike and 2 services is done. There is some strange noise coming (continues humming sound) - seems like a Fuel pump but it is little loud. No affect on riding quality or anything noted but the sound is weird and irritating.

                  Please help.

                    • GT oil review

The bike was running just fine earlier, with minimal vibrations..was running on the Motul 5100 (ss) and was pretty happy with its performance..but i kind of always had the feeling that the bike didn't accelerate as good as it used to from stand-still even after changing the air-filter (stock) and the spark plug(NGk CR8E)..
there seemed to be a "lag" as i had complained earlier on the forum too..but there weren't as such any thing that could point to the cause of the problem, and the unavailability of the FID device at the silly and the only svc here in nagpur, i decided to ignore it.. overall, i was happy but was continuously on the look out for alternate oil brands/ grades..i was keen on trying the motul 300v fs but decided against it because of two main reasons:
                      1) reports that it "burns" out quite quickly as indicated by the decreasing oil level.
                      2) cost- 850INR + additional top-ups to maintain the level.

So motul ss it was then..the issue(?) with this oil though was that it kind of seemed to run out of life at 2000kms which was signified by slight roughness and heating (not over-heating).. that was one thing i had to live with though,
till i heard about the GT oil..

i at first checked the website, was quite convinced with their explanations about the working and effects, but was skeptical..then i asked 'neoakshay' who was already using this additive for more than 7k kms and his reply was positive..i contacted paulson, cleared a few doubts, and requested him to send the oil to me at a pretty reasonable price(considering the claimed benefits), which reached me the next day itself!!

as my oil change was due anyway and the level had fallen below my liking, i drained out the old oil and poured in a new can of motul 5100ss along with two 15mL satchets of GT oil..

i was not expecting wonders though..

i let the bike idle for a few minutes, then took her out for a spin, the initial feeling was just as i used to get when i poured in a new oil but slightly better..
then i decided to rev it higher and then boy was i blown away!!!
the difference was instantly noticeable, the engine noise wasn't harsh anymore, at even 6.5k it felt as if it was at 4k!! and
surely, the vibration levels had gone down by large, even at top of the rev range!
the main changes i found were as follows:
-the bike starts up a bit more easily/quickly than before (lesser cranking)
-it sounds much more polished/comfortable at all the rpms as compared to before.
-the acceleration, both in gear and specially stand-still (no lag now) has improved noticeably.
-surprisingly, unlike before the bike didn't complain when i was doing ~30kmph in 6th gear and didn't struggle to pick up speed.
                      -less heat generated (seemingly)

all in all, this is surely the best my bike ever was and i hope it stays this way..
and i recommend all owners to try it atleast once..

im not sure about how long it would last according to my riding style (not rash but fast nevertheless and occasional ripping sessions) but i was comforted when paulson told me that this oil has been tested in racing engines as well which rev higher than our bikes..

i will report back after 5k kms (w/o changing engine oil) again..

for now, i agree that this is the quickest tune-up an engine can get!
It is surely worth a try!
after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

you just need 2 sachets to treat a 150 cc bike,
using gtoil 1 liter will be a bit expensive

Let the bike complete more 2500 kms...then go for full synthetic..and while pouring full synthetic,do change the oil filter too
