hey guys, i'm having a problem with my r15 engine. at idle there seems to be quite a substantial amount of vibration from the bike and even when i'm riding, i can feel the vibration through my thighs as i stick them to the side of the gas tank. my friend who has another R15 however has a smoother engine which does not suffer as much vibrations.. does this mean my bike has not had a proper break in? should i have an engine overhaul??

Not yet booked. Just checking the available options. I almost booked V2 when it was launched but then had a second thought. That time rear seat cowl was not available for V2.Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostYa abhijit you can put it. When did you got the delivery of V2 ??
Will wait till Auto expo.

@kyaw1992
yes i too have noticed the vibration on my thighs when i grip the tank in idle and my bike is only 4 months old.
when i went through the threads, i saw that putting FS before 6000kms is a big no no but alas i didn't know about this and the svc poured FS after just 800kms in first service. I think this is the reason for the vibes

They put FS on my First Service at 300kms and no probs faced. 11.5k kms covered after that. Still using FSOriginally posted by KLM364 View Post@kyaw1992

check if the bulb is fused. also try fitting another bulb/interchange the bulbs and see. If still the RHS is not working, check for wiring defects. its nothing serious, don't worry.Originally posted by Ascetic View PostMy bike's RHS headlamp has stopped functioning today......dont know why it just does not glow up in upper or even in pass. What should i do?

I bought it 1.5 months ago 2nd hand when it was exactly 1 year old and i lube it up every month... it's not a problem with the chain because i feel the vibration even at idle.. it's like at every stroke of the combustion cycle, the tank will vibrate...Originally posted by vkavadia View PostHow old is the bike?

What is that caused by? my bike has run 8700kms and err can you please enlighten me about what is FS and SVC? haha i'm quite new hereOriginally posted by KLM364 View Post@kyaw1992

I shifted from the absolute shitload of a battery that Minda is to the amazing Amaron 5ah.Originally posted by veyron999 View Postafter one and a half years, the infamous MINDA battery on my bike seems to be on the verge of giving up!
i've read that quite a few have shifted to AMARON 5Ah batteries and are happy. I just wanted some reviews and comparisons to the stock one..
after changing the battery, would it be possible to change both the low and high beam bulbs to 55/60W ??
Well there's not much to tell actually (It's a friggin' battery not a flyin' saucer). First off, it's 5ah which is bigger/more/larger/better than 3.5 (and you knwo how boys are about sizes
)
Then there's the 4 year warranty, which gives a lot more satisfaction that the flimsy 1 year on minda.
And lastly the battery is green, you know that having something green on your bike gives it instant 3bhp more right?
So that's it. Put a Minda and an Amaron in a ring and Minda will have to be carried out with missing teeth.
Seriously speaking, I've very satisfied with the Amaron 5Ah battery. Starts up in half a crank and required minimal adjustment to the stock battery box. Next time It's a 9Ah that's gonna go in (but sadly that won't be till this one goes out i.e. atleast 4 years).
The only adjustment required to the battery box is to remove the foam in the bottom of the box. That'll make sure the battery goes in well. Use old rags(/new hankerchiefs if you're rich) to fill in the gap left due to the difference in width of the new battery till it is nice and tight.
Or you can go in for a TATA Green and call it a day. But then it's 3.5Ah and you know how boys are about sizes

FS - Fully Synthetic engine oilOriginally posted by kyaw1992 View PostI bought it 1.5 months ago 2nd hand when it was exactly 1 year old and i lube it up every month... it's not a problem with the chain because i feel the vibration even at idle.. it's like at every stroke of the combustion cycle, the tank will vibrate...

SVC - Service Center
I thought it was because i switched to FS really early but as Prakritij told that doesn't seem to be the case. Does the vibration come only when u rev the throttle at idle?

since the Battery's capacity is higher, how about the charging rate. is the charging same as the 3.5AH or it takes more time?Originally posted by Parth View PostI shifted from the absolute shitload of a battery that Minda is to the amazing Amaron 5ah.

just a doubt that came to my mind, not much idea in the field of Electricals.

ooo thanks!! well the vibration is present throughout the entire rev range, no matter at idle or while riding. but the higher the revs, the more the vibration present on the gas tank

Adieu to the legendary R15!
Hey guys,
It has been a wonderful 1 and a half years with my R15. I have grown as a rider and so has my bike (its a R16 now)! 32,000km on the ODO and i'm now a certified tourer.
Was looking for something bigger and more comfortable and the CBR 250 fits the bill perfectly. Before I exchange my bike at the showroom, I thought I'd post here incase a fellow xBhpian was looking to buy a used R15. Below is the bike's history:
- Bought on 27th May 2010
- It's a 38B1 model Sunset Red
- Almost 32,000km on the ODO
- Changed to the Race-Concepts big-bore and Simota airfilter at 19,000km
- Been on either Motul 5100 semi-synth or other fully synthetic oil post 10,000km
I will give the buyer the stock bore and piston too. Kindly PM me for additional details or interest in buying.
Finally thank you to all my xBhp buddies who played a crucial role in my decision to buy the lil Yammie as well as with sorting out all the niggles thereafter. Am attaching a few photos of my bike.
Cheers and happy safe riding!
A good rider has balance, judgment, and good timing. So does a good lover!
