But its a maintenance free battery right? so, the electrolyte levels need not be checked. The terminals are not rusted and moist. All connections are in place. Guess the only option left is to check the alternator for any defects. Thanks for the help dude.

What i meant to say was that if your battery is not sealed properly or somehow received higher than normal voltage the fluid levels may drop as they get vaporized. If its so, you are entitled for a replacement i guess. Anyways get the alternator check for faults as of now. Happy to help

I guess it is time you change your chain and sprocket. How much has your bike run ??

If you haven't been lubing regularly, your chain and sprockets is due for change. I am not sure about the price of chain and sprockets. It is somewhere around 2k. The bike will be as good as new after the change.

                • Tyre Change

My bike has run 14000K and my rear tyre began to leak air from the area around the sidewall, so I decided to change it.

I installed Duro tyres rear 120/70-17 and front 110/70-17 on the original rims. The cost set me back a whopping Rs.8500/-. (Metro Tyres at Lamington Road)

As I continue to use the original rims, the rear tyre has 'bunched up' and I have ended up with a profile which is higher than the original 100/80 MRF tyre despite the new tyre having a lower profile. The front seems okay. This has slightly raised the height of the bike as well as causing the bike to lean sharper when on the side-stand. There is also a noticeable loss in speed when riding above 100kmph.

Any ideas how much a suitable rim for a 120/70 section tyre will cost me and where is this available in Mumbai or Pune? If available, will this rim and 120/80 tyre fit without modification in the swing-arm?

All in all, I think this is probably one of the most silliest things I have done and do not recommend this to anyone.

Are you sure its maintenance free battery? Did you checked all your electricals and the battery charging rate?

                    • hi guys, just had a query..

My friend met with an accident on his R15.. Bike skidded @ quite high speed damaging almost entire right side including fairing, tail section panel, foot pegs, exhaust cover, front wheel rims, disc brake, fork, mirrors, visor & headlight.. Handle is out too..
                      Luckily no damage to tank..

Just wanted to know if anyone else has encountered anything of this sort, i had a few doubts in mind..

How long would it take for the bike to be back in shape after all required repairs considering we'll go for full insurance claim ??
We're asked for a blank signed cheque along with insurance forms, whats that for ? Any idea ?
On what parts shall we get the insurance cover ?

Ps: Its a V2.0, would there be any expected further delay for fairing & other parts ?

I had fallen to the right side myself once, damaging the front mirrors and the rhs fairing and exhaust cover.. but what surprised me was that, my bike completely saved me! just like a normal bike's leg guard, the fairing on the r15 protects the riders legs to some extent..

not sure about the spares though, assuming they are available, the insurance procedures will take a minimum of 2-3 days or more..

you'll get 50% claim for fiber parts.. the cheque must be for the remaining 50% .. i suggest that you first analyse the damage, as the fairings aren't very expensive, if the total is affordable, then replace it w/o claim..
after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

                            • Hi, my ride just clocked 7k Kms so tomorrow I'll take her for 4th Servicing. Today while riding, I've noticed few things :

*First three gears are now real hard & I'm unable to slot my ride in Neutral.

*When I pull clutch & leave throttle inorder to slow down, the rpm stucks in 2k range & drops as the bike comes to a halt.

So, what could be the problem? Also, 3rd Servicing was done @ 5k Kms.
