Hello guys, I've been using cbz xtreme 2011 model with dual discs for around 4000kms and now m planning to sell it off and get a used r15 v1 as the new v2 will be a bit uncomfortable for my family. And I'm around 5'11 so m not sure will r15 be comfortable enough for me so for now planning to get a used one. Actually m fed up with these air cooled engines as they tend to lose power after engine getting heated up. I ride my bike regularly for around 100 kms and these air cooled engines tend to give up after some 50 kms. Engine becomes harsh and they lose a good amount of power. So basically what I want to ask u guys is does the liquid cooled r15 tend to lose power after getting heated up like the air cooled ones??Yamaha R15 V1 2011

comfort depends the way you ride the bike .. Height does not matter .. M 6' My self and never had problems riding ..
R15 does not heat up so fast.. i did have a problem first where the radiator fan does not used to start and the engine used to heat up but that was taken care and since than never had the problem again..
Rode the bike 200-250 Km straight without a Break and it was really great as it did not heat up.. About the power .. its better than before :P

Start riding for short periods and slowly you will be riding more and more kms without the Engine issues as the V1 engine can stand saddle sores of 1600 kms in 24 hours.Originally posted by segagt_0 View Postthank u for ur reply.. even i feel its comfortable for me too but i've never used an r15 for an extensive period just used for small drives so wanted to confirm first..and about the engine even i feel its top notch in performing.. anyways thanks for everything..cheers.
@tanmay - The R15 V1 has 2 years warranty, so before you complete 2 years go ahead and claim it.
@hellb0y - be careful while installing the K&N filters as i heard lot of issues from people who installed on R15. By the way how many kms you are done with stock air filter and why you wanna upgrade to k&n ?

hey, i too had a similar incident....i was riding alone at 70km/hr or so nd hit a pothole hard......my front rims got screwed nd had to change them...... after that i too feel the ride quality has decreased.......bike feels stiff nd jerks alot even on very small potholes.......does that mean my monoshock has been damaged aswell?????? my bikes only 4 months old nd done 2700kms so far will it be covered by warranty if i do have to get them changed???? plz helpOriginally posted by tanmay324 View Postthe bike is of sept2010 and has clocked 17000km
checked at the svc. the shock has become very weak the mech said needs to replace the shock not he whole assembly.
had a bad impact in a pothole with a 110kg pillon at abt 95kmph. thus thenafter the ride height has become about 5 to 6 cms less and the rear tire bangs on the underseat body at bumps thus riding single till the shock arrives.
can it be anything else than monoshock damage coz there is no visible damage to the link.

well you hit a pot hole at 70kmph and as a result your rims got bent right. You got the rim changed, but did you also check the cone set on the handle, was it alright? As a big impact can also have some effect on the cone set. So go to SVC and then get the cone set checked as well.Originally posted by iGnOraNt~BaStArD View Posthey, i too had a similar incident....i was riding alone at 70km/hr or so nd hit a pothole hard......my front rims got screwed nd had to change them...... after that i too feel the ride quality has decreased.......bike feels stiff nd jerks alot even on very small potholes.......does that mean my monoshock has been damaged aswell?????? my bikes only 4 months old nd done 2700kms so far will it be covered by warranty if i do have to get them changed???? plz help

umm...no. i told them abt the incident and asked them to check the bike if there were any more damage and they said everthing was fine. is there any way to check the cone set ourselves?? although there is'nt much noise from the front but i hear tak tak sound frm the bak wen i hit small potholes. but i think that is because the chain is very loose. i'm reachin 2700kms so thinking abt takin it for 2nd servicing. i'd like to noe a thing or to before i go so that i can tell the SVC guys to check it. i'd be thankful for your coments.Originally posted by Shivanshu View Postwell you hit a pot hole at 70kmph and as a result your rims got bent right. Do you ahve a center stand?Originally posted by iGnOraNt~BaStArD View Postumm...no. i told them abt the incident and asked them to check the bike if there were any more damage and they said everthing was fine. is there any way to check the cone set ourselves?? although there is'nt much noise from the front but i hear tak tak sound frm the bak wen i hit small potholes. but i think that is because the chain is very loose. i'm reachin 2700kms so thinking abt takin it for 2nd servicing. i'd like to noe a thing or to before i go so that i can tell the SVC guys to check it. i'd be thankful for your coments.
If yes then make the bike on center stand and put the weight on the back side of the bike so that he front wheel lifts up from the ground. Now try to move the handle form one side to another. It should be able to move freely i.e. if there is no problem. Or else if any one side is moving a bit hard or jamming up in the movement, then you need to get it corrected.
Tyres are leaking from the side wall or from the middle? Did the RIMS had any bent? and have you got the air nozzle changed as well whenh you got the new tyres brotherOriginally posted by Sarvajit View Post

Hi guys,
I wanted to put Fully Synthetic Engine Oil a few days back when i took it for service, they only had YamaLube Semi Sythetic. So i instructed them to not change the engine oil. Its a decision i would have had to live with for the next 3K Kms, almost.
I am thinking of getting Fully Synthetic engine oil suitable for R15, of some other brand like:
Motul, Castrol or Shell. I am thinking motul, as many have reviewed that provided a whole new league of engine performance.
Can someone please kindly advise me, what I should know and check on the oil can's specifications, to ensure its suitable for R15.
Also any recommendations regarding engine oil brand will be much appreciated. I tried searching through previous posts, to get the info required. But it seemed a bit like needle in a haystack act.
ThnxI look my best when I take my helmet off after a long motorcycle ride. I have a glow and a broad grin. -JHW

Tyres are leaking from the side wall after painting bro. Like I said the painter painted the insides too. We sanded it last time while servicing but to no avail. The rear rim had a bend which was straightened. Now the bike always feels wobbly&as though its punctured even with 40psi of Nitrogen in it! And yes, nozzles were changed too. Handle if left makes the bike drift to the right.Originally posted by Shivanshu View PostTyres are leaking from the side wall or from the middle? Overall I'm not happy!
I've decided to remove the tyres from the rims&check for bends then get the paint removed as we discussed. Handle should be a small adjustment hopefully as cone set is already replaced.Quench my thirst with gasoline!
