Mine is a 2010 Version So which one will be mine ROLON / DID?
Seems like it's gonna cost me a bomb after adding the labour charge

But i got to change it as i feel the chain is pretty loose.
Is there any harm (Other than the dip in performance) if i continue to use the same chain for some more time?
2010 models have come with ROLON so you should go for it, and since you are going to put the stock chain-set, so the performance would be the same as it is was before. Just remember this would be a new chain, so stick to 500kms clean n lube procedure till around 2k kms alrite bro.

      • That is correct, Rs3000 is the approximate amount which you'd have to spend for new chain set which includes chain, 2 sprockets (front and rear) and labour charges. My R15 is running on 3rd chain set and I paid the same amount.

If the kit is a DID one then its price comes upto 2800 MRP.

If its Rolon It should not be more than 1455-1500 MRP

          Chain: 855 + Sprockets 600 if I remember correctly.

I'm told the spare prices have gone up. Will try to find out the new prices this week.

            • Hi guys,

Help me with this one. I want to install a remote lock in my newly purchased R15. Few questions:
Will it void the warranty? Will I need to replace the stock battery?

              Thanks

                Hi Dude,

It won't void your Electrical Warranty if you got that installed in the SC itself. Also you need to buy the Anti Theft kit from Service Center Accessories shop only.
I got it installed in Bangalore Wheels, Rajkumar Road, Rajajinagar during my first Service. Both Xenos and Minda were there, I opt for Xenos after reading many reviews in the same xBhp forum.

Now done with Second service so far no issues with battery BTW mine is Minda battery, Now thinking for Amaron 5amp due to HID+Projector.. Still doing R & D on that.
                Hope this clears your mind

Thanks a lot bro, it sure has cleared the doubts I had. I will purchase that anti-theft kit. BTW, how much does that cost if I may ask?

I know the new R15 (v2) is about to get to the showrooms but still i prefer the current R15 (can we call it v1? )

Am from Chennai and want advice on :
                    -Showrooms
                    -Accessories and Riding gear shops
                    -38P1 or 20P2

A colleague of mine pointed out Paras Yahama as a reliable one and he know a good friend over there. Will this really help ? or can i go with a showroom near to my place (Jain Moto Bike)

Also i need inputs on stores for buying riding gears (helmets, gloves and jackets), stickering (right from number plates to sporty designer graphics)

Is the Blue one in showrooms now a 20P2 version ? The only reason i would go for a Blue one is because of smoother 20P2 engine from Indonesia. Is that a advantage over Indian made 38P1 engines?

                    TIA !

P.S. I really love to see the passion in u guys for R15. Hoping to join u soon

I would suggest you to wait for a few more days, now that the 6th of Sep is around the corner. let the new one hit the road then decide.

20P2 if you can find one.

Search for the thread titled riding gear. You'll get all the info about the stuff you want.

If you dont get info regarding showrooms here, try chennai g2g thread.

                        • Weird Revving noise

                          Hi ,
i ve done about 2000kms on my r15 , suddenly when revving it past 6 rpm there is a weird noise in the engine , something like grrrr... can someone throw some light on this issue ?
Also when ridin through dense traffic the red colour indicator on the console lights up ..

how can i rectify these issues ?

                          Comment

                          • also would topping up the coolant rectify this issue. My engine is really hot after riding the bike even for short distances

Yes, seen it before.. Looks really nice for being kept in a museum.. I don't think its gonna ride as good as it looks.. The bottom one isn't looking good also.. Did he forget the saffron colour? It would at least resemble the Indian flag then..

Please check the engine oil level and coolant level. Also, how much have your machine done. I started facing similar thing after around 40K kms and now at 58K kms, I have realised that its the time for a new cylinder-piston kit. However, I did some really fast trips on which my motorcycle kept running at high rpm for sustained periods and that could be the reason of shorter engine life.

If the coolant level is too low, it should help. Check for any leakage in radiator also.
