Hey guys, is there a thread for the new R15 or is it the one. The launch thread is closed. So no idea where to post for the new R15. Anyways here is a noob question. Will yamaha showrooms install the daytona kit in the new R15, should I go for it or not?

Guys i was thinking if the first post can be updated with these regular trivial issues. Vibrations, top speed not the same, harshness, When to put fully synth, Life of fully synth oil, tyre pressures etc, it will save the hassle of replying the same thing to someone again and again.
No one wants to search the thread for any info since its nearly 2000 pages long. So they keep growing it further.
what say?

If not that, make an index which would link to specific posts on that! Have been saying that for ages, but than Uncle Google bails me out of such bad thoughts!Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

Svc
Guys, how has been your experience with the Malad factory shop SVC? I went through different mechanics at each service and frankly I'm quite disappointed. There was only one mechanic who I felt was good at his job. The others just didn't bother to care or do a road test post service to make sure what they did was right. Anyone else face this issue? Any other recommended SVC in Bombay?Always assume the other guy will mess up - Ride Defensively!

I am 170cms tall and weight more than 80kg. So, I am a bit on the heavier side. The bike feels fine everywhere except in stop and go traffic where you have to put your feet down. Around 10mins in such traffic, and you are done for. Add a pillion if you want some more torture!Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostI'm 171cms. No problem with back or any other part on long rides. I have done Hyderabad-Bangalore&back solo&quite a few other short rides. Never had any issues with the posture. Only thing I used to feel was strain on the wrists in very heavy traffic on braking. Reduced the problem to a large extent by putting handlebar grips over the existing ones. I'm medium weight&am stating this based on an average body (not workout)-I have no idea about how heavier guys feel on the bike.
On the highway, at speeds of 80+, its bliss. The air flow even relieves some weight from the wrist.
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

The bike is a head turner. Comparing with the old one, the new one definitely lives up to it. It is never less powerful than v1. Infact, I felt the low end torque had a little bump and felt 90kmph came real quick than old one(not much difference, but definitely (101%) there is a differnece compared to v1). Couldnt do more than 90. The service man himself told me the rear seat was very uncomfortable(he was the pillion for the test ride, atleast 50 years old). Without a pillion, I felt I could have taken it to 120kmph easily in the time I did 90. Clutch is very smooth, rear brakes performed really well just as the front one.
Noticable changes from v1(My views- May change for other riders, but not much
).
Braking and stability at high speeds has increased. Feels planted to the road.
It will definitely be on par with the v1 on a speed test and beat it on a track test.
I dint feel much difference in handling, but my pillion was moving to the right side when I really wanted to corner to the left side
, and he said, dont lean much, it may fall... I could have slapped him...but respect elders... For more handling views, I could only comment after a solo ride.
The most noticable thing is the rear part of the bike feels planted to the road and most times I felt there's no concern about skidding or losing control. Maybe its because of the big rear tyre or the new swing-arm.
That put a big fat smile on my face, tomorrow i'll get to see all available colours and then decide which one to book on the 17th.
I have been confirmed delivery on the 28th by the showroom guy.
Dying to graze my knee pads

respect ma authoritae!!
