I think camera was not able to catch original red color however if you were to buy the bike which color would you opt for?

i would go for Red White,
i actually wanted the white one..
black is also good if you protect it very very nicely..

    • Bangalore guys -

Please suggest me a mechanic/service center which I can trust. The authorised SVCs are only good at looting peoples.

I need to get my steering bearing greased. I had it done at 10k kms at a SVC. Now, at 14k, I need to do it again - those guys had the cheek to charge 400 bucks just to clean and lube the upper bearing. The lower one was left untouched with just some extra grease applied on top of the old grease. And, the SVC was Pacer Yamaha, Banaswadi.

BTW, I stay in BTM layout.
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

No, the teflon coating will react with the rain water and create an exothermic reaction consuming all the plastic parts on your bike.

On a serious note, Are you for real???

As JD has said, please wait for atleast 24-48 hours before allowing water to fall on it.

I'm really confused between black and red-white..
When I see red it looks sexy and when I see black it looks cool..

And yeah There are no demo or test models here so I just have to depend upon images or else wait for one month see colors and then decide which is impractical for me..

Please help me guys to decide which color to choose

I saw the bike on Saturday (I don't want to upset you by giving my opinion on the looks).
For the color choice, I think you can leave out the red-the white part in between the 2 seats gives an effect that makes the abnormally large gap look even more so. Blue still fine. The black one has titanium colored rear which looks nice.
No worries about maintaining black-it is the easiest. Water marks go with a wipe or a polish at the max. Bike shines very nicely when polished. Minor scratches are also easily removable/coverable.
Only thing is it attracts dust like no other.

its the same everywhere. they only(in most svc s) care about the sales and service be damned. Hope Yamaha(and other manufacturers) do something about their service quality.

              • @ everyone - I have completed close to 11000 kms in 9 mths on my R15. A strange thing happens on my bike when i start her riding in city for first 5 kms when i keep her below 5k rpm she is ok and shows accurate speed and all, but once that period is over and i start her ripping and shift on 8k rpm, the orange malfunction light glows, the speedo acts funny and i am hitting 100 and it shows 0 or a reverse countdown starts. The odo meter, trip meter all come to halt but the fuel tank indicator works fine.

Has anyone gone through same issue, if yes than why it occurs and what is the solution for same.

@sarvajit - Time to change the rim.

Can't afford that buddy&moreover the bend is very minor-the tyre is able to hold air upto 30psi.
Will try the heat press repair thing as I don't want to get it hammered. I believe it should work out as the bend is really small.

I absolutely loved the bike when i got to see it in flesh, i didn't like the red and white after a while , i am going in for either blue or black.

Iam sure Sarvajit has his reasons to not like this bike, n like he said on another thread one man's meat is another man's poison. But i'd maintain my opinion that the bike is totally droolworthy and you wouldn't regret buying it unless u plan to travel a lot with a pillion.
                        respect ma authoritae!!

                        • Restarting bike after 2 months

My R15 has been kept idle and under cover all through the monsoon for a little over 2 months. I now wish to start her up and get back on the road. Any tips that I should follow to ensure a smooth start-up would be very welcome.

Now waiting for dealer to call me to go there and see the colors and bike in flesh..

Put the key into the Yamaha R15 key hole and press the starter button. It's as simple Don't worry 2 months will not do anything to R15
