  • Hi Guyzz

Booked on some date around 10th and waiting to get time for some other formalities, I am dying to ride one but confused which color

Earlier I was bent towards Red-White combo but in the daylight pictures coming from people it looks odd to me, now I will prefer Black or Blue. Here also Black looks good but Blue has the feel. What to do, I don't know. Just saw blue in flesh and that was awesome but may be other colors looks better in flash. Help me if somebody can?

shift to using mineral oil (motul 3000 4t plus 20W40) and keep changing it after say every 1200-1500kms. I think it will work.

At 10k, upper bearing was fine with considerable amount of clean grease left. The lower one had very less grease of dirt brown colour.

And both the bearings and the plates were clean with no rusting spots anywhere. Quality is top notch. (I know how Pulsar bearings look like after 10k kms!)

+1. Another trend nowadays is that they don't allow customers to see the bike being serviced.

You never know how much a nice round of cleaning, lubing and tightening the chain set can help! Try it once.

        • I was observing about the malfunction light and my speedo console showing 0 on speeds when i used to hit 100 + speeds. So today i checked with service center guys and they say the sensor has to be changed which costs 500 rs. I have still not completed one year after the purchase of my bike. So wanted to know is this all expenses to be borne by the owner even when the vehicle is not completed one year?

And secondly at how much kms one should do the changing the clutch cable and acceleration cable.

I told them to make brake oil completely bleed and refill the same at 11000 kms as it was giving a bit rough feeling to me.

          • I'm smiten by the looks of the v2. Absolutely gorgeous, I think about swapping helen for v2. But then I don't think it's worth spending over 40k just for a cosmetic upgrade. Heart vs Mind and all that.

Sorry for the OT post. But I just had to...

Ok, thats good. Santosh's coneset had rusted due to lack of greasing. Wonder how mine will look like-it has never been opened since July 2008/23K kms.!

Did you see it in the flesh? I did&did not like it one bit. Reasons already mentioned in the other thread.
Btw, I think you are better off upgrading to a bigger bike rather than spending so much over a cosmetic mod.

I didn't get to see it yet. Waiting for showrooms to get stock. I'm listening to my mind this time, 40k is a LOT to spend over looks.

                  • Anyone here can quote the top speed in 6th gear for an R15 that is almost 3 yr old and 20K kms done????

                    Also,

The bike is serviced appropriately and well maintained in stock condition.

I would like the approximate speeds both upright and crouched.

Lets keep the wind and slope neutral.

                    Thanks.

                    • hello bikers, need help finding the rear tyre of r15 (stock tyre) in bangalore.
i enquired in prefect riders (lalbagh road) and orion motors(koramangala) today. they told me to get it from mrf itlsef as the company has stopped providing tyres for the showrooms. they told that even they get the tyres from mrf showrooms only. is it true? if it is true, then please can any one give me the address of mrf showroom where i can get the tyre as i need it very badly. i'll be enquiring in bangalore wheels(rajajinagar) tomoro as i could not go there today.
                      thanks in advance..

Speedo sensor - covered under warranty.
I got it replaced on my bike FOC, at around 9k Kms.

Depends on wear & tear. My bike's stock clutch cable snapped at 3k Kms. Replacement is still doing well after some 19k Kms.

                        Well said.
How did you get the 40k figure though?

Yes, R15 tyres in B'lore to be sourced from tyre shops only.
Go towards JC road, & you will find a set of tyres easily from the umpteen tyre shops there.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Sensors are covered under warranty which is for 2yrs. The sensor is much more expensive than what you paid, Rs500 which must be just the labour charges for changing it.

Clutch cable and accelerator cable should be changed around 12K-15K kms. Else, you can keep both with you and get them changed when they give up.

23K kms isn't that much but the duration of 3yrs is. Mine is running on stock conesets since June 2008 and 59K kms.

50K kms for the chain? I've running on the third chain set. None got any further than 21Kkms. Odo reads 59K at the moment.

I touched 141kph and 129kph respectively in a couched and upright position when my R15 was exactly 3yrs old and had 56k kms on the odo.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. The sensor costs about INR 550.

I would kill myslef if I had to pay INR 500 as labour for changing a (non-engine) part of the bike.

Me and my younger cousin both have R15. He faced the same speedo problems on his machine and even though I don't know the exact price, but it surely was several times than the amount what you paid. This incident happened in Feb 2009 and we still have got the bill, which read 'covered under warranty'.
