When i turn the key to 'ON', the 'coolant temperature warning light' and 'engine trouble warning light' flash and they don't turn off for some 2-3 seconds.

When I press the start switch, at times the tachometer turns 'OFF' and turns 'ON' on its own, sounding like the battery is dead for sometime...This happened for about 3-4 times today itself. But the warning light goes off after 2-3 seconds. What might be the problem????
I might not have put the problem in right words, but hope u people understand correctly whats happening..
      your battery must be dead...
      try getting it recharged...

it happens with me sometimes..mostly randomly.. have done 15.2k kms, around 1.5 years of using the infamous minda!
after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

to some extent.. better if you get your chain lubed, including the front sprocket..
if that doesn't work then get the engine mounting bolts tightened..

Got my chain set replaced few days back...But the vibes still persist...
Guess would have to get the Engine Manifold Bolts tightened...

I had an idea though ..Can we get some rubber washer inserted at the place where the foot peg bolts are tightened? Will that help in reducing the vibes to some extent?

          • What is the maximum life time of MINDA battery that comes with the stock R15. I had to change it today, after 22+ months of ownership. Switched to EXIDE...

i doubt there is any scope for placing rubber washers there...simply tightening everything should help i suppose...

guys, i have covered 15k till now and haven't got the tappets/ valve clearance adjusted even once..
the svc guys simply refuse to do it by saying its not necessary till you can hear the loose tappets sound, which in my case is non existent...
i somehow feel that the bike doesn't perform as it used to earlier...

              anything on this??

              • as per me following are required for bike performance..
                1. Air filter cleaning every 1000 KMs. learn it youtrself.
                2. chain should be properly tightened and lubed every 500-700KMs.. buy a chain lube..
                check performance again after that

                • Impressed

Was on the way home yesterday evening. a blue r15 passed me. He was quick, so i trailed him till we reached a newly built bridge (dahisar, mumbai). It was obvious we were to race. I own a cbr250r. Just as we entered the bridge we sped off. That was the first time i raced a r15. I was on full throttle, never did that before. I continuously looked through the rear view mirror to keep a check on him. He was just at my tail for almost all the time. He just lost after crossing 100+, might be he slowed down. I slowed down later. He crossed me and he gave a 'thumbs up'(it made my day), i returned it back to him. Saw xbhp written on his rear fender.
I am IMPRESSED by r15, superb bike. Would love to ride it someday.
He had a different exhaust, so not sure if it was a daytona kit, joeled or just a stock bike with different exhaust. But seriously man 'Thumbs Up'.

                  • for your own and others' Safety, refrain from road racing under any circumstances. not expected from a(two) xBhp members no matter what Bike you own.
there are tracks for your races, not the public roads. I think its illegal too.

I very much respect what you said and myself follow it every time. Sorry, my bad for calling it a 'race' but it was actually just a simple 'quick acceleration' we can say, hardly just for 7-8 seconds on an empty bridge.

I myself ride very sanely and i do care alot for my and others safety.I know how precious life is

                        • Guys, does the R15's stickers come separate or do we have to buy that part..??
If it is available, can someone tell me the rate of stickers. Its not available here...
