      Experts..Any ideas?

Why would you guys wanna do that? For the fatter tyre?
My understanding is that the aluminium swingarm came into existence to reduce the weight due to the increase in weight of the rear tyre and mudguard.
And for those who are planning to plonk the tail section (split seat etc.), I don't think it is possible, since the sub-frame is different-see the panel running from the side cowls to the front cowls.

Yeah the reply was for the other guy too.
Frankly, I think the handling will be the same, since the chassis is still essentially the same.

          In other words, I mean:

          V1 with lighter tyre+no extra mudguard/tyre hugger&conventional swingarm = V2 with heavier tyre+extra mudguard/tyre hugger&lighter
          alumimium swingarm.
So I don't think only the swingarm is worth swapping.
Another reason is extended wheelbase, higher ride&seat height, wider radial tyre etc.
R15 as such is a small bike with loads of technology crammed in-a small change will manifest itself in demonic proportions in the bike's overall rideability. So I stay away from changes.

I don't think V1 will perform better with just one or two of these parts, as V2 has many changes.
If someone really wants to convert to a V2, the list would be almost endless-sprockets, rim, frame, tyres, plastic panels, silencer, ECU etc. etc.!

i Had changed the chain & Sprocket today. While i gave it they said it gonna cost me Rs 3000 (as expected). but when i took the delivery they charged me only Rs 1792 (978 (DID Chain)+ 249 + 165(Sprockets)) . But after coming home when i checked the bill the chain is mentioned is that of FZ 16 . Does this create any Problem? has the SVC guys has fitted wrong chain in my Bike??? guys help needed..

              Thanks !
I don't think there is any issue, it's just because of low fuel level that's it.
@ all : Is it really worth replacing a few parts on the V1 with V2??, Like Sarvajit said there are many minor changes to ECU and other internal components of the engine, I don't think if we replace the swingarm and all it will handle any better; the V1 is by far the best handler and so will the V2 be, but both of them would be different and IMHO replacing a few components of the V1 with V2 would not make V1 faster or better than the V2.

The chain length (links) is different for the R15 & the FZ series.
Get it checked and replaced immediately.

                      My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

                      • Got a test drive of the new R15 v2.0. My views....
The bike is a head turner. Comparing with the old one, the new one definitely lives up to it. It is never less powerful than v1. Infact, I felt the low end torque had a little bump and felt 90kmph came real quick than old one(not much difference, but definitely (101%) there is a differnece compared to v1). Couldnt do more than 90. The service man himself told me the rear seat was very uncomfortable(he was the pillion for the test ride, atleast 50 years old). Without a pillion, I felt I could have taken it to 120kmph easily in the time I did 90. Clutch is very smooth, rear brakes performed really well just as the front one.

Noticable changes from v1(My views- May change for other riders, but not much).
Braking and stability at high speeds has increased. Feels planted to the road.
It will definitely be on par with the v1 on a speed test and beat it on a track test.
I dint feel much difference in handling, but my pillion was moving to the right side when I really wanted to corner to the left side, and he said, dont lean much, it may fall... I could have slapped him...but respect elders... For more handling views, I could only comment after a solo ride.
The most noticable thing is the rear part of the bike feels planted to the road and most times I felt there's no concern about skidding or losing control. Maybe its because of the big rear tyre or the new swing-arm.
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

If you're lucky they may have just made a mistake in your billing, disinterested staff often do this. Best check it out elsewhere, if the wrong parts are installed go back, blast them and get it changed asap, otherwise have a beer on them!

Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !
