            Hi Guys,

Just wanted to share a picture of my new ride with you people.
Done 130 km now and lubed the chain once. It feels better now and the rustling is nowhere to be heard.

                Hi Prakritij

The light is perfectly fine, its just the plastic cover which is still stuck..

                  • @Zam.

Its seems to be superficial problem...my suggestion is get a "rubbing polish" done by a professional followed by a coat of wax...your bike should be as good as new in no time...and you would have to spend some 300-400rs for this...

Precisely! I dont think ANY Yamaha Factory shops have such tools or use them!
They dont even use the diesel blast machine to clean the engine when they swap a block! leave asides this state of art gadgetry!
At best they would probably hammer stuff into place (in the process causing more potential damage /damage potential!)

They Test rode the bike and Quoted the following:

                      Shocker/Fork Alignment : 600 INR
                      Front Cowling: 685 INR
RHS Side Inner Fairing: 800 INR
RHS Side Panel : 650 INR
                      RHS RVM : 251 INR
                      Labour Charges: 300 INR

As per them, There is no damage to chasis of any type and No alignments etc needed for it.

However, The Side Panel available with them was of the 20P1 series (Older Graphics ones); So, I refused to replace that and so the total cost came to approx 2650 INR.

AFAIK Insurance valuation of Fiber parts are about 50% so, I didn't claim any insurance as I was told by the SVC floor manager that alignment won't be covered in Insurance as it is not a replaced part and they (Insurance company) need damaged parts.

All this took approx 4 hrs; but I'm happy..

Only sore point is that the Side panel is still the old scratched one.

I need a few suggestions; Now, I'm thinking about putting some custom Vinyls (tribal/ Racing strips) on both side panels. It should be able to hide the scratches as scratches ain't scattered on whole surface but just at the point of impact. It isn't broken or cracked; so I think the Vinyl should be OK.

                      Please suggest.
Just a tip... before you throw in vinyl be sure to sand it first... else the vinyl would start puffing and peeling. Apply a clear coat if you are happy with the work!

The forks can easily be bent further by the mechanic ( beyond repair ), and new ones can be ordered. you pay about 10-15% of the price depending on depreciation.
Whole heartedly agreed. Never risk it when it comes to vital cycle parts!
Juggad work on Chassis, Suspension, Breaking is always risky and never worth the risk!

If you bought the cover from Yamaha, complain with the customer service over the quality of the cover and the bikes paint job.
Dont apply spirit or anything, it would kill the clear coat on it!

Yes around 1400rs for ROLON chain set, which comes with 38B1 and 38B2 and around 2800rs for the DID chain set. And yes the chain has to be changed along with the sprocket, as along with the chain the sproket also has wear and tear.

Mine is a 2010 Version So which one will be mine ROLON / DID?
Seems like it's gonna cost me a bomb after adding the labour charge

But i got to change it as i feel the chain is pretty loose.
Is there any harm (Other than the dip in performance) if i continue to use the same chain for some more time?

In my 2010 version R15, my beast is equipped with ROLON "42T". There is higher chances of same in your case.

As far as I know, I don't think/guess, it would harm the Engine other than performance! Indeed, it is call for you to replace! :P
