Even I want to know this - should the foot be above the brake lever or below it?

I keep it above the lever so that I am ready to brake quickly if requred - but the foot bends a bit more than I am comfortable with.

So, how do you guys do it?

I got the brake&gear lever height increased so that its comfortable even with formal shoes.
But I think the LHS footpeg has bent a bit due to my foot's weight resting on it!

Seems like a good idea. Only problem is that I ll have to re plan the trip.

For me since i have long legs its really uncomfortable placing my foot on top of the lever , also i want to avoid accidentally touching the lever and causing unwanted wear of the brake shoes . So its below the lever for me . Sudden braking i use my front brakes .

I gave the bike for service and was suppose to take it back the next day. I did go and the bike was ready but I told them about the engine over heating and the Red light coming on. The svc guys said that its fine because we have worked on it which they did say the last time and the time before that and for no reason I had to go a day extra to to get it fixed. I spoke to the manager there and he said to keep the bike as he would take a look on it and will call back when the work is done. He did mention that they would check the fans or open the engine or something, I did keep the bike there and he said that there might be a charge for cooliant around Rs. 600. Should I be paying for that as well ? and Since i got the bike there was damages on the Radiator which i told them again and they said its because of the washing.

Please tell me whats right and wrong .

            thankyou
As far as the coolant is concerned you have to pay for it , its just like u pay for the oil. All liquids have to be paid for . Other than that if the damage was caused by the SVC during washing you can file a complaint with them and even write to the back office . If its ur doing then there's no way out .

So, the foot is below the brake lever I guess?

Mine, both foot pegs are bent very slightly!

Physical damage by a yamaha mechanic ? If the yamaha guys have done it then they will replace it free of cost .

i keep it diagonaly so that brake is not pressed all the time and i'm ready to brake when needed. on high speed open roads i keep under the lever

Not really-coming to think of it, the heel is resting on the footrest.
Sometimes, depending on whether the shoe has a depression before the foot part then what you said maybe true.
In other words, make maximum of whatever little space is available on that no rubber footrest!

                        • So, it seems there is no clear favourite.

As for me, on the gear side, I keep the foot below the lever, while on the brake side, it's above the lever. Only thing is, it looks odd in photos!

                              • got my second service done 2 days back, and now im getting a weird noise from the rear side of the vehicle. Not able to figure out as to where it is coming from, hoping it was the chain but isnt. the noise is a sort of rubbing "kssshhhhhhk" noise. Could anyone tell me where one should start looking cos everything seems to be fine! Going tmrw to the SVC to give em a piece of my mind and get it sorted out!
