I was also goin to add my Yamaha SZ-R with Hid but m@ bike dosent Have kicker and my battery wont have enough capacity So u whether check ur bike battery or projector lamp power capacity.

Ok people my problem is solved
The fuse was actually blown. I just saw the DIYon fuse replacement for the R15 and just went to check the fuse.The fuse was blown,so i just replaced the fuse and everything is on track now and I am so happy. The projectors are working fine....

a few queries
I got the fourth service of my bike done at 9500km mark. The bike felt very rough before the service because i had delayed the service i guess and engine oil was getting depleted. I even felt the bike getting hot (the warning light never came on though) perhaps due to the same reason.

The chain too had become very loose, got it tightened, the mechanics set the chain tensioner between 3 and 4 and they said that it shouldnt be the case for a bike which has done only 9500km, it should be somewhere between 2 and 3. Not sure about this, please guide. I always lube before time, get it cleaned and lubed frequently. Still the chain set feels rough, even after the service it hasn't become completely smooth, i can feel vibrations on the foot pegs, can it be due to the chain ? its like a brushing sound coming in like twice in one second at around 60-70kmph in fourth gear and varies with speed and RPM and the vibrations are in sync with this. Or is that sound something else ? Also service center charges extra labor for installing new parts, even when the free service coupons are provided. Is this the company policy ? I changes front disk pads for 480 + 50 rs labor charges. And the rear Tyre had 3 punctures, they charged 150 for 3 punctures , worst part is i can repair a puncture myself but i didn't know they would charge so high. Also, they refused to add the puncture cost in the bill. By the way is there any limit to what number of punctures a tyre can take ? I mean there are four punctures in 1 inch square region, moreover the plugging material that they use has already made a big knot there giving me a slightly bumpy ride

Refer to the pics attached, the paint around the lock has got scraped off, by another key that was in the key ring, just looks a little ugly so how can i get it fixed along with minor scratches on the tank and rear grab rail ? Also, the changed the gear oil, they said "kharab ho gaya hai ", i had no idea about this, the quantity was good enough but got it replaced anyways.

Any inputs from my co-R15ers will be appreciated.

Varies to many factors like rider, posture, tyre pressure, type of road, chain slack etc. However, you can see videos in YouTube where the riders have attained 150Km/hr so far. Personally, I have attained just 115(without pillion) on the highway! I was around 1.5K by ODO at that time so couldn't wanted to put new bike under pressure!!

125kmph is doable in upright position provided you shift gears at 10k rpm, for more the bike should be in good condition, look into proper chain tension, lube it, air pressure, crouch on the tank completely, this should take it too 135+, wind direction and speed, riding gear, weight of the rider also come into play, i have done 142kmph but comfortable cruising speed is arpund 110-115 i would say.

@abhi underdog - mate the gear oil and engine oil is the same in the R15. wonder why they took you for a ride on that..

And if they fix a puncture, tell them to put it in a bill. They cant do "kacha paper bill" work in a authorized service centre.

And its not necessary which chain tensioner position should be. It differs from bike to bike, and depending on the wear and tear, riding conditions, riding style, interval of chain adjustment, lubrication etc, and what not. So dont freak out at that.

The worn off area can be re painted by a decent matt black spray can. Just mask off everything else, and better if you spray the whole top clamp to give it a uniform look.

Has anyone been using Slime or any other anti puncture products ? also i would like to know the steering lock is a bit loose by default or no as i ams observing my lock is a bit loose as the key keeps on dancing in the key hole.

I've used anti puncure gel before, I don't exactly remember whether it was slime or not,but it was there till the whole tyre life and it was very goo, so good that I never lost out on air pressure . Many nails came and went but my tyre went on and on till it was worn out...
Now I'm using some local brand, that is also good.No issues.

Recently, I am planning to go for a long ride around 600KM( One way). What is the maximum distance you have covered by solo riding in r15?

600 kms.done solo to Bangalore&back.
There are others who have done double the distance.
No issues.

People have covered 1600kms in 24 hours with the speedo above the 100kmph mark for at least 21 hours if not more on this bike..

Its a great machine.. If you've maintained yours well then ride worry free!
