  • hey guys...!!
Today i got to know the quality of parts used in r15. while driving in harsh traffic conditions,i got hit by an alto..thought the exhaust must have a big dent on it.....but after seeing it i was shocked, not even a small dent, only some scratches...awesum..!!

by the way can you help me guys ..i got a problem and a bit confused. while revving the bike today,i heard a sound beneath from suspension or somewhere near the engine like huge phat(usually this sound is heard when there is no engine oil in spledour). please figure out guys what could be the possible problem . i am a bit afraid..

    • went on a 700KM pune-hedvi round trip with wife as pillion.. plenty of rain, ghats and offroading..

Bike is awesome on dry termach and highways.. but it sucks at couple of points..

      - For Offroading.. Rear grip is bad.. worse than my P150..
      - Headlight, even with a 55W is not that effective.. and totally nothing in rains.. P150 reflector did better job.. any other options except HID???

      - not comparing with Pulsar, but on finding couple of good corners and dry roads on ghat tried cornering.. but side stand scrapped twice after cornering & high court ordered not to try again .. saw, that the stand was fully folded.. was expecting a bit more from R15 with scrapping point been higher than this.. anyone else felt this thing??

Ride quality is just freaking awesome.. no doubt about that.. only thing is you need to keep changing gears .. keeps you busy

      ride on..

not trying.. was scraping .. don't worry mate.. we are riding since 3 years and have covered many ghats and corners..

nyways, have anyone faced the similar thing? is there way to highten the side stand? I am sure the experienced corner junkies must be leaning more OR some probs with my side stand..

Yes the quality used in this machine is awesome. About the PHAT sound, I think you got adulterated fuel in your tank, as that sound also known as miss firing happened with me when I got fuel on highway while touring, but I used the fuel and got another tank fuel at other petrol pump and its gone.

Well have been touring a lot, couldnt ever scrape the side stand, yes foot pegs many times. I dont understand while cornering what you touch is the foot pegs, and side stand is more on the inside of the bike. did u also scrape foot pegs or just the side stand.

                • Hi Guys, i am planning a long drive with my friends from Chennai to Sri Kalhasti temple, near Tirupathi and back same day on the coming Saturday. As many of you have discussed and advised , i shall keep it below 5 k rpm till 500 kms and 7k rpm till 1000kms. M already 300+ kms on ODO, so will be crossing 500 km milestone on this drive. Anything else i shud take care of for smooth running of bike during and post this trip? Thanks in advance!!

well.. then it might be footpeg only..

actually it happened during left side lean only.. and no vibration felt on leg.. sidestand seems to be more outside than footpeg, so concluded, must be side stand..

just something scrapped twice and threatened to imbalance the bike due to scrapping.. the ZMR rider riding behind also told later that maybe side stand was scrapping as he saw dust flying at the impact while lean

                    • If it is the side stand, then sparks will fly, not dust!
Check the footpeg slider-you will know if it is a bit scraped or not.

You were riding 2-up so the rear suspension would've been compressed more than usual bringing down the overall height of the bike including the foot pegs and side stand.. I guess that's why you couldn't get a good angle of lean..

Yes, keep taking breaks after every 50 kms to give a little breather to your bike..I mean let it cool down at regular intervals....

                            • After a lot of thinking and eating yamaha engineers head, they realised that my right side handle bar was bent and that was the reason why the bike was sliding out too much, I guess when i had parked the bike in matherans parking some monkey character would have done that. Now after changing the right side handle bar the handling has improved a lot.
