      • K&N for R15

        Hi Guys,
I own a R15 and am thinking about replacing my stock air filter with a K&N. Do you know anyone who has done the same and if yes what has been his experience? What kinda performance improvement has he noticed and if at all what are the side effects (besides a dip in the mileage)?

          1) Has any of you tried Motul 300V 5W-40 Factory Line how is it for R15.
          2) Any of you face fariing vibration in high RPM like 7K+ and was it solved and how

          3) Bike is rusting under speedo did any body contacted Yamaha what was the solution.

          4) Looks like Yamaha chain lube & chain cleaner are new hot topic now What is the cost.

Btw I tried commander spray polish amazing bike was shining like new in under 5 mins :O. earlier i had to spend 15 mins for the same.

Also beaware last time I had been to Orion they were using some local brand for chian lubrication. so watch out.

          • hey guys im really shocked about hearing the wear of the front and the rear brake pads....i am really worried now...BTW how do i get to know whether the brake pads have undergone wear and need to be replaced....just by the braking or is there something else...

@hydbike--thanks for the suggestion dude....i was just curious about it because once here in delhi in kirit nagar...i saw a bike with stock R1 underseat exhausts....i was kinda shocked to see that...so thought whether it can be fit in R15 as well...anywayz...thanks a lot for the info....

In regards to your vibrations, are u sure if its the fairing which is vibrating or the wind shield cause i am facing the same problem with my wind shield. I spoke to the Yamaha Service Head and he told me that as i have removed my number plate from the wind shield, it no longer has the support panels which come on the number plate which play a vital role in reducing the vibrations.

If you go to any official Yamaha service station, they will charge you around 150 bucks for the cleaning and lubrication of ur chain with Yamalube. If you want to buy the Yamalube Chain lubricant, the Spray can will cost you around 1600rs which should last for about 16-18 sessions (As informed by the Yamaha Service Head, Pune). Remember you will also have to buy the Yamalube chain cleaner if you planning to get the lubricant and i am not sure how much that will cost.

                  • Hey guys.. sory for the late reply.. cant help it.. My internet was down for full 2 days..

                    By the way...

                    @ SAGARR_46
Thanx for ur input regarding Yam Lube...

In ur latest post u've mentioned that the spray can wud cost around 1600rs and plus the chain clean additional..
Well in my case, here in Mumbai at thomsun auto the guy said that the chain clean wud cost around ~450rs and approximately the same for the chain lube, totaling some ~800/900rs. Both the cans were of same size. Gotta check out...

                    Hey thanx bro..for writing...

Yeah..it was bloody painful.. spcialy those 3 injections right on the toe from 3 side to numb it.. was hell of a pain..

I've also read in 2 posts bout the highway average.. n it was in high 40s..
Well i got an average of 54km/l on highway in my last long ride.
It was a 2 day ride n the road was glass finish..I had already mentioned bout the fuel comsumption in my triplouge.

Also the brake pad issue seems to b very serious. Gotta think over it..

And yeah..I too hav seen people with 130 section LOW PROFILE tyres in the rear for R15, without any modification.

                    • @DriftKingNT: The Yamalube is available at the Yamaha Company Showroom at Wakdewadi, Pune. I am not sure about the other showrooms in Pune and other cities.

@ketan_r15: The Spray can which i saw was pretty fat. I think it was around 400ml. Will confirm and get back to you.

                        • I had gone to the showroom today. Asked them about the new Chain Lube and they said that they will be getting the new lube soon.

I have got my rear tire punctured i guess. Tire pressure went to 15 within a week. I will have to get the wheel removed from the SS and then take it to a tire shop. This must be the result of burnouts.

@sagar I dont have a K&N filter but I can say that there wont be much difference in performance. You will also lose your warranty. But I wont stop you from doing so because even I am planning to do that in future.
