    Hi Friends,
I took half day off from work to go to Ernakulam and fit handle bar grips over the OEM ones. After fitting, simply inquired about 35W 12V 3000k HID with Projectors which they quoted 7k for 2 and 3k for 1. Wanted them because of the rains as OEM lights are not very bright for Night riding even without rains.
After that rode off towards Angamali without any particular destination in mind as I frequently do. After Aluva, rain started, So I stopped at a HP gas station to fill Petrol and had Lunch there itself.
After filling my Tummy, returned back towards Ernakulam and it was still raining slightly. One big vehicle was in front so the whole road in front was a blind spot. Then came the crossing near the Airport and since the Truck or Bus(I don't clearly remember.) was moving, I too was at its tail(low speed only). When the Vehicle crossed the crossing, the lights suddenly turned red and I braked hard(I use only the front ones) and skidded and I was off the Bike. I could register what happened only after I came to a stop. One Auto driver and a by-stander came near me but didn't helped. I got up slowly and sensed the amount of injuries which were Thank GOD only limited to bruises on my left knee and left elbow and a minor scratch on the right palm. Then I lifted my Bike and put her on stand(while lifting her, I was thinking about exercising the "how to pick up your Bike after a fall" posted in Xbhp)
Took her to the left side and checked her wounds. The LHS fairing was scratched and the fairing area near the pilot lamp(the thinnest part) was cracked, the LHS RVM also was loose. tried to start her but saw the Orange engine light on. turned the Ignition key off and turned on again and it was OK and she started at the first thumb, I stood there for about 5mins and took off to the nearest Hospital, got the wounds dressed and a tetanus injection. I was still 50kms from Home.
Rode back Home, the handling was Fine but my confidence got bruised too. checked Handle bar play by leaving the hands and found her veering to the left very slightly which may have been due to the Road surface(not sure).
I was wearing Helmet, Rain jacket and steel toed safety boots which saved my feet as there were scratches on them too. Jeans and jacket got torn. somehow the RHS pilot lamp was not glowing which I saw on a car's reflection.
After reaching Home, immediately bought Fox knee and elbow guards which I was pending for the last couple of Weeks as I was waiting for a discount coupon which came Today in the form of bruises.

Its 2600, But 1st see if its really required to change, coz most of the times the Svc guys will not tighten the two Ring nuts below the Handle. The assume it like a normal bike and leave it loose.

This will cause the handles to wobble and an uneasy feeling while braking. Ask the Svc guy to have the First ring nut from the bottom, tighten to 45NM torque and the upper one to 13NM torque. Coz R15s handles are not like a common bike.

He said because of the heavy rains here, it gets worn out fast. Is it true? Do they really get worn out that fast?
Also, how much will it cost to replace.
                same case here bro ...

Are you guys keeping your right foot on the pedal while driving and not realising that you might be pressing it just enough to enable the braking? (you can confirm with a friend if your rear brake light is on while you're driving without the intention of pressing it). I'm not talking about obvious braking which would make you realise you're slowing down, but just at the border wherein you start braking. If so, this would definitely lead to the fast wear & tear. Just a thought

like rkakkar said, you might be riding with the rear brake pressed unknowingly. have you got your rear brake pedal adjusted?? If not then you can get it adjusted to a level to which you feel comfortable and same for the gearshifting pedal. I understand the brake pads' life depends upon the usage but still 5000kms is too less, you can see the pads lining yourself and you can try what rkakkar said which I think is probably the case with you.

It's given in the DIY section, but the R15 is too light to do that you can just simply lift it , hasslefree

yes man, but I'm light too at 50kgs and after an accident, people are mostly weak at their knees. Actually it occurred to me when I stooped to lift her up and thought if I can't do it my way, I will try the way it was mentioned in Xbhp

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.
