I came back day before yesterday from one of the most amazing and crazy ride on my Angel, went to Mana (last Indian Village above Badrinath) and man I was very much impressed once again that what this bike can take - 5 days riding in continous rains, messy slush at one time knee deep, and yes crossing the waterfall on roads which touched my saddle bags when attempting to cross it. Yes I know this bike is a track bike, but if you love her and she loves you, you both can go anywhere.

Seems like your bikes Kill Switch isn't working properly. Change your bikes RHS Switch Gear.Originally posted by Astrobufff View PostDear folks, I had my R15 lying covered during a month and a half of the recent rains since I did not intend to use her during the time. Now I find that when at a signal, if I shut her off with the engine kill switch the fuel pump refuses to come on and the bike refuses to start. (I checked that the tell tale humming of the fuel pump coming from the bottom of the fuel tank is absent and have double checked the spark plug and cap). It restarts on its own after some time when the bike is left alone for a few hours. Switching off with the ignition switch does not cause this problem and the bike runs smoothly with multiple stops and switch offs in the middle. What could the problem be? Electrical as in kill switch or some relays or is it that my Rs 7500 fuel pump in the ICU?.2005 HH Karizma [SOLD]

It seems to be the correct and cross-confirmed diagnosis as a heavy dose of WD 40 in the engine kill-switch has alleviated the problem albeit temporarily.
Appreciate your quick reply. Thanks.

Fed up with my tyre, today I got it tubed though wrong tube size 100/90- 17" and after so many days my tyre had correct air pressure and it's working good, did some high speed runs and no problems so far, if anyone is suffering from tyre problems I would recommend tubing.
Has anyone/everyone experinced power sliding when the bike is in power band, leaning coming out of a turn after clipping some sand?
BTW I have the habit of using engine kill switch always , is this harmful? My Stable.....

My neighbours (2 of them) checked out the new one on paper. There is nothing different in the engine, tranny or the suspension. Just split seats and new graphics apparently. Talk of 25 BHP form a 150cc engine seems to be a lot of hot air since it is not even achieved by the separately sold performance enhancing kit.Originally posted by ab47 View PostRecently got your R15?

The young college goer felt that the split seat was a spoiler for the very purpose he was buying the bike and so opted for the older one instead. The other friend is a little older as is sitting on the fence keeping both the options open.
Even the dealers are unaware of what the new bike shall be like adding to the confusion.
Apart from a larger engine, there is hardly anything to improve the on an already good vehicle.

@astrobuff - Even if the engine is the same, one thing should be an improvement, and that IMO should be the top speed of the bike. With a tidier and more compact and streamlined rear, and the rear fender not acting like a wind deflector anymore, This bike should be capable of hitting higher top speeds on stock engine. Waiting for a test of that.
NH 58 end to end eh??? and as usual, no need to mention anything to me.. thats ok thats ok... Did you see bhim pul there??? and the mouth of river saraswati? How were the roads this time? lol u know my condition JD. And yes went till BhimPul and saw the mouth of river Saraswati as well. The road conditions are bad several landslide and nullahs in that area. There were many places where the 4-wheelers were not permitted to cross, but being on bike thats the advantage as well as a bit dangerous as well.

Why don't you post a thread with lovely pics as well?
@jd66: On the other hand, my doubt is that with more teeth in the sprockets (front 15T, rear 47T), the bike will have better low end torque at the cost of sacrificing top end.
Can't say for sure till we get a ride on it though!Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Even I had booked the newer version because the folks at Yamaha Bangalore told me that they had no stock for the old R15 and Yamaha was clearing up the stocks. I personally do not like the split seats and the hanging tail light as visible in the pictures of version 2.0. Today, I paid for the older version (Midnight Black) and will get the bike tomorrow. I still do not know whether I made the right choice of going with the older version of the R15
