You can use Motul 300V Double Ester 15W50 oil if the climate where you stay is 59F to 115F. If you stay in a place that is colder you will need to go to 10W40 or 10W50. The quantity of oil required will be 1 quart (1 liter).Originally posted by Freejohnsond View PostGuys I'm desperatly needing to change the oil in my 08 r15. EnjoyOriginally posted by Freejohnsond View PostThe info is greatly appreciated. By the way love this bike
I hasn't seen another like it here.
!!! Yes, its small but its also one tight compact bundle of fun. Do change the oil filter along with the oil. And do post some pics of you and the bike. Wondering how the bike ended up over there. That would sure be an interesting story to hear.

^^^ First thing that you need to do is file FIR (may be two of them)... one for the accident and maybe a second one for the missing bike (depends on how the police want to treat this whole issue i.e. it is one matter or 2 separate incidences)... take your relative or whoever saw the alleged boys check out the bike to the police station as a witness. Have his statement recorded.
After you have filed the FIR, you have 2 choices. Wait and hope that the Police recover your vehicle and then you file a claim for insurance for the accident. The second choice is to file a insurance claim for the missing vehicle. If that is done, the insurance company will settle the claim based on the value of the vehicle. However, if your vehicle is recovered at a later date you will not get the vehicle as the insurance company will have paid you compensation for the vehicle. The vehicle will belong to the insurance company to do as they see fit and right.
Note.: Your claim for insurance on vehicle from loss due to theft will be complicated as the vehicle had be in an accident before it was stolen.Last edited by abhimanyu31; 06-07-2012, 06:07 PM.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

I can't seem to find an oil filter here .
Do you know of any of the other yamaha bikes use this same filter? Here is the bike when I first got it. Out was on this taylor because I couldn't find a shifter for it here. I paid a friend $150.00 to fabricate one from 3 different sifters from 3 different bikes. I will upload some more pics of it. I think I uploaded the picture new to these forums.

The oil filter is common for YZF-R125 (available in Europe, Australia), FZ150i (available in South East Asia), T135 (also available in South East Asia). Here's what you may need to do; take out the oil filter and take it to a Yamaha dealer who deals in small dirt bikes. He may be able to help you. In the meantime I will go through my bank of Yamaha Service manuals to find out if there is any compatible oil filter.Originally posted by Freejohnsond View PostDo you know of any of the other yamaha bikes use this same filter? Also you will require the service manual for the bike; you can download it from here: Service.Manual.YZF-R15.pdf - 4shared.com - document sharing - download - Binil Varghese
In the worst case scenario, I have couple of oil filters with me, PM your address, I will courier it across to you.
