^^^ @veekay: a word of caution... Breaking and tyre performance in wet is always lower than what it will be in dry conditions. Please ride carefully in the wet or dry or you are going to get yourself into all sorts of trouble. Maybe it's time for you to really start thinking about upgrading your riding skills proactively. It just may save your life one day in the wet.Last edited by abhimanyu31; 05-01-2012, 11:08 AM.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

thanx man, i too have a similar opinion, but with a lot of ppl saying otherwise confused me, though i knew R15 tyres are best as far as OEM are concerned.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostBS!
All my rain rides of 2011 have been on my r15. I have never faced any problem in the grip of these tyres. IMO these are THE best OEM tyres coming on any bike I have seen untill now (Havent seen a lot of CBR and Duke in wet though)
Princesirohi:
Wet grip is fine, you wouldnt be cornering in rains anyway. If you intend to do so, then you might need a Bridgestone Battlax for your bike... which would wear very soon in dry conditions!
so they are definitely better than any other zapper -c, q, vyde etc. right.
no, i won't be cornering in rains .. like a motogp... but yes i do ride fast sometimes in rains, like 90-95 kmph (that is fast in wet conditions specially on my small P150) and i go pretty fast from lonavala ammby valley, so i want a good set of tyres, that can withstand fair amount of speeds and some amount of banking while taking corners.
considering these requirements, i switched to R15 front tyres on my P150, extremely satisfied with it till date. what worries me is the absence of a central groove on R15 rear tyre.
is bridgestone battlax available in india specially pune- where, how much..??
is it available in 100/90 ?/
bridgestone india website shows only 4 wheeler tyres.Last edited by princesirohi; 05-02-2012, 05:26 PM.

Display issue !!
Hi Guys,
I am facing this frustrating issue from a long time now as it comes and corrects itself after few days then it kicks in again.
When I turn the keys to ignition the display wont get powered.. will stay dead as if the keys are not even thr.. though the self start will work and i can ride normally, radiator fan works fine, Headlights work, horn... everything is okay
Just that the display is not powered..
When it happened for the first time, I quitted office and took it to YMSC at pune M.g road straight away without restarting the engine...
they inspected and told as it all electronic we will have to change the whole diaplay as its out of warranty cost = 7.5K+etc. So, I planned to get that done on the weekend.. then 2 days later the display came on like normal .. where in the trip meter registered the Kms travelled while it was gone..so I was further confused..
Now this has happened for 7-8 times now but is very irritating !
I searched and came across Yahoo
<http://in.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091025222602AAoAKl1>
the guys suggests to pull wires below the seat.. but I fear that could create another nuisance.. and what wire exactly to pull is also not mentioned?
Kindly suggest a solution !!
Or does anyone know where to get wiring map of R15 v1.0 esp. wiring chart for below the seat ???? does the Showrooms keep it??
Please HELP !!!!!

was facing some stalling issues with my bike when i used to blip the throttle or give sudden deceleration at speeds above 90.
Put in half a bottle of STP fuel injector and carb cleaner, tanked up and rode the bike for around 50 kilometers.
tried blipping the throttle and sudden deceleration at 120kmph and the problems are completely gone, would recommend everyone to use this every 5000km's to keep the fuel system clear of the dirt that comes along with indian petrol.
@prince sir, battlax are available in India, Not sure about Pune but they must eb available with so many sportsbikers living in pune.
I dont think you would be able to get a 100/90 in battlax, and it is extremely costly, the r15 tyre would be a much better choice.Last edited by revvhard; 05-03-2012, 12:05 AM.Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What is the best option to improve the lighting on R15 ??
I just want brighter bulbs that can be used with the stock setup like plug and play.Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! A bit on the high side, all depends on other factors, what's the mileage, condition of the bodywork, wheels, tyres etc. I bought an '09 model a year back, with 1500kms (genuine) on the odo, for a touch more and it had a so-called 'special number'Originally posted by Crank49 View PostHi R15 owner bros, how about paying 85k for a 2009 model R15 at the Yamaha SVC...?
is it worth buying for 85K? thanks....
If it's immaculate, ie no swirl marks all over the paint, especially the tank, wheels and tyres in good shape (make sure some grease monkey hasn't ruined the paint on the alloys) and low mileage/full service history, then maybe around 80k max, you need to factor in that the model is now obsolete as the v2 has been around for some time now, so this will always speed up depreciation.Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Thank you bro for your fast reply, i've a plan of modifying the bike with those kits available, hence searching for used r15s. I also think 85k is high, but its from the SVC, may be some exchanged bike, but as you mentioned, something between 65 and 80 make a sense to me too...!!Originally posted by stefanm View PostA bit on the high side, all depends on other factors, what's the mileage, condition of the bodywork, wheels, tyres etc. I bought an '09 model a year back, with 1500kms (genuine) on the odo, for a touch more and it had a so-called 'special number'
