@Parth: I also removed the saree guard within a month of purchase, but left the screws on, as advised by the mech. There are no vibrations, in fact without the screws the panel may vibrate.

Today I decided to check the top speed of my bike after class, so I took it for a spin on noida toll road. I was using full throttle and I was at about 8k-8.5k RPM, The bike went till 120 kmph but I couldnt take it beyond that I tried but max it was 120-122. There was no pillon rider with me and my weight i around 53 kgs. I've see people taking their r15's to 140-150 (stock). I wonder why I couldn't take it beyond 120 kmph.
P.S Odo shows 700 kms and I got 1st service done before 15 days.Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead.

@HotAntivirus: Dude i feel it's too early to Search for the topspeed as you bike is only 700 kms in ODo
. Don't over do it.
Regarding the top speed question. you can do more than that if you shift gears near 9 - 10 K. Try it in a safe road, make sure that you wear all the proper Gears while doing it .

mine goes between 0-117 and keeps on variating........but this happens just for some time.........I called the supervisor at a yamaha svc and he told "maybe sensor is broken. if it is broken then you have to pay for the new sensor otherwise it will be covered under warranty". but I think it is more of a some wire loose kinda problem........coz after a while the speedo comes back to its sane self and shows the right readings. I'll go by the nearest svc in the evening to check if its a breakage issue or a loose cableOriginally posted by surendar View Posthi , parth
similar problem faced by me in my r15 , when it was 10000 kms , it is due to the faulty speed sensor , i got it replaced under warranty..... speedo oscillated between some 0-100 and stopped in 0, so i changed the speed sensor, if the speed sensor stops working the engine trouble warning light will glow........
Hmm lets see........I'll keep the screws on till sunday and if by then they have loosened up then I'll remove them. else they stay on the bikeOriginally posted by Sarvajit View Post@Parth: I also removed the saree guard within a month of purchase, but left the screws on, as advised by the mech. There are no vibrations, in fact without the screws the panel may vibrate

I got my Bike on October 2009 Sunset RED. My Chasis number is ME120P02X92005117Originally posted by svjhonda View PostI don't think its a mass recall, but a certain range of chassis numbers. Best go to the svc with your chassis number (only from where you have purchased the bike) and ask them to check. I got my radiator replaced yesterday.
So that means its a 20-P2 versio not 20-P1
Am I eligible for the replace? Although, bike's horn is not mounted on radiator...

Hi Friends, Just got 6th free service done by Panache Yamaha on my R15 after 11500 Kms on Odo. Missed the 5th free service as time had lapsed. Issues I had before the service
1) Loss of power (Sluggish), low Initials and Top end dies at 110kmph
2) Improper Idling
3) Clutch Issues
Parts replaced -
1) Engine Oil - Yamalube 15W-50 - 365rs
2) Oil Filter - 378Rs
3) Damper Clutch (4 No's) - 133Rs
4) Spark Plug - Iridium CPR7EA1X-9 - 528Rs
The Service Supervisor insisted to go for a Iridium Spark Plug replacement instead of a stock Spark Plug. According to NGK website Iridium Spark Plug Part number is CR8EIX, However Panache replaced with CPR7EA1X-9.
Iam wondering if they have replaced the compatible one.
After the service the bike is behaving good, still need to test the Top speed.

AFAIK, the entire set of 2 inner tubes and 2 outer tubes (for left & right) costs 4k. Nowadays prices have reduced. Maybe its become cheaper now.Originally posted by Aparajith View PostAnybody know the cost of front fork assembly and front rim cost on the R15?
Hmmm, valve springs are supposed to be lasting long. Say atleast 50k kms. A way of knowing would be removing them and measuring the length/height.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostAnybody has an idea on how much do the valve springs last?
One of my friends been running his R15 (now some 48K KMs) and his tappets gets loosened up every 300KMs!
If the horn is elsewhere, then no worries. And yes, I think the 20-P01 series ka models are being replaced. Still, no harm asking.Originally posted by freakzil View PostI got my Bike on October 2009 Sunset RED. My Chasis number is ME120P02X92005117

No, no, don't worry. My coolant reservoir had run dry at 1st service. Fearing the bike drinks a lot of coolant, I bought a bottle. Didn't use it till yesterday, and even then it had to be used for the new radiator I got, not because the level was low! So let the coolant go. Just check the level when the bike is vertical, and after the engine has cooled down.
Its recommended that the coolant be changed every 2 years.
Which part is this? Did you see it?Originally posted by bhargava_sr View PostHi Friends, Just got 6th free service done by Panache Yamaha on my R15 after 11500 Kms on Odo.

About the spark plug, as long as its the same rating, its okay. You get the point?? :D
