  • well,
    heres simple

when you get the F sign
it means that the bike is running under 2 liters of fuel
and the digits show how much distance you have covered from those 2 liters of fuel

after filling more fuel you need to press the reset key again, otherwise it will keep on showing you the incorrect values

when your bike runs under 2 liters of fuel try not to go above 70 kms on the trip meter as r15 gives around 40 kms to the liter.

Thank you, well Rc1060 is the one which i was looking for then. how about the mileage, acceleration?

what are the K&N air filters for?

do they enhance the bike performance in any way?

are they exactly suitable for an R15? means, do they harm the furl economy or anything?

my bike has done about 7k kms and its been about 7 months since i got the bike....if you do suggest for the filters, is my bike of the right age to install them?
if not what is the right time to do it? i'm asking this since i ve seen a guy with the LE R15 at the SVC, installed with the filters....they sounded great! exhaust note!

well, i ve seen this review on K&N filters...have your say on this
"I have a Pulsar 220 dts. I equipped it with a K&N air filter, changed the exhaust and sparkplugs. I did it all at once and now my bike goes around a speed of 160 kmph and accleration of 0-100 within 8-9 seconds .... thats freakin AWSUMMMMM ... !!!!"
          IS THIS REALLY POSSIBLE?
is 160 kmph possible with a pulsar 220?
          !60kmph on a 220, can u get a proof from that 220 guy u achieved it?

Yamaha authorised agency installed it and it doesnot void waranty so go for it and yes as all peaople say that after installing K'N mileage increases because of improper air fuel mixture so my bike proving them wrong with same mileage as before and top end of 142km/hr so i think fuel mixture is ok otherwise top end should be decreased and mileage should have been increased but in my case bike is NOT RUNNING LEAN AFTER INSTALLING K"N RC1060.....though other sizes like R110 may effect air fuel mixture. so go ahead install it and enjoy

              not a all
let it be like that unless you pour some more fresh fuel to it
              then press it once

make sure that you add at least 4 liters of fuel
to avoid F sign again and again

it is recommended to keep at least 6 liters of fuel in the tank to avoid damage to the internal fuel sensors

finally got my bike tonight ! ... well guys help me out uploading da pics cos each pic is more than 2mb in size !
there are a couple of problems though! my right headlights are not working when on low beam! and when i was bringing the bike home i filled fuel worth 200rs. but the fuel indicator is showing that the bike can go only 18.2 kms and it was showing 12.8 km before i filled the fuel! anyone knows why ??? and i took it for a small ride right now ... now its sshowing 19.7km
                          buddy, chill...
right headlight does not work on low beam, that "does not" mean you should ride on high beam..
the fuel indicator will show F - 18.2
it means, that the bike has travelled 18.2 kms after going into reserve..
the bike "does not" show how much the fuel is going to last..

the reserve trip meter (F-...) starts when there is approximately 1.9L of fuel in the tank...it resets itself 5kms after you refuel...

edit: no need to reset fuel trip meter manually..as i said, it resets itself after 5kms.... hasn't anybody read the manual??
it can be used to calculate the average (not accurate though)..our bike does not have the reserve/on knob, so we have this way for calculating the avg..

to be precise, when we are going say at 50-60kmph, when i give it a full throttle, the test ride bike gave a positive jerk, i could feel an immense response/pull from the engine..
but my bike isn't so, in the same scenario, if i give a full throttle, it doesn't give any jerk, it pulls, but slower.
has done 2.6k till now, 2nd servicing due soon..
btw is there anyway we can confirm that the performance is upto the mark except dynos?? just to be sure i've got an R15 engine only and not a souped up pulsar !!!
                            anyone on this?

                              Hi,

just a personal thought and observation

Sometime after running in, a bit of continuas speed bursts are needed to open up / free up the engine

If possible, get down to near by freeway / express for some red line in lower gears .. (after which if possible change the oil)

Secondly, please check your tire pressure and wheel free (disc pads should not be touching the plate) also visit another petrol pump than normal to switch the petrol you were using.

                              Thanks..
                              Catch me @ Orkut..
