rather, you need to loose them a little
it is supposed to rest on the rubber

even i faced the same issue
issue solved after bolts made loose a bit

do let me know after that

        • can i fit a security system to my Yamaha R15 ..does it really harm the electricals

          Hi All,

Me smarak recently bought a yamaha YZF R 15 , i am confused wheather to install a security system to my bike

planning to get a root xenos or minda security system..

can any owner tell me if fitting a security system to my bike will affect the electricals and if so then can i adda extra battery to the sec.sys to fuction without making connection to the existing battery

my dealer says that installing these sec sys will creat problems. like the sound heard by the Ele circuit while the keys are set to on will not be there any more , so i am thinking to go for extra battery if i fit the security system

any one using these can plese put light to this ...and help would highly be appreciated
          Regards

Dont do it man. In other bikes, the electronic system is limited to lights and horn, with the R15 the electronic system is pumping fuel to the cyclinder and also trigerring a whole lot of other sensors too (which are really costly if you end up with any problems).

In my opinion, it is not worth the risk. Rather, put your bike in a closed enclosure at night and you can also chain it up to an iron fixture or something at night for added safety.

@ Leshy : Buddy can you post some pics of your bike with the exhaust mounted from the side, I want to know how long it is and how does it look from the side. Also a video of the exhaust would be awesome
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

AFAIK w/o any mods any R15 will hit limiter at 128kmph in 5th. Not a kmph more.

Top speed is dependent on too many factors, tires, new oil, chain slackness, wind(a major cause) and many more variables.

With all those variables accounted for and on good set of tyres and correct air pressure. (On a Bone Stock R15) I've consistently hit 130kph in 5th and 110 kph in 4th gear. Not just in my bike a couple of my friends' bike too. This is where the rev limiter cuts in. I upshift at 109 in 4th to 5th and 129 in 5th to 6th usually. And once hit 131kph in 5th while maxing out on a downhill before upshifting and hit a max of 145kph that day in 6th. But now i'm more heavier :P

But there's no way a stock r15 on stock gearing will go anymore than 130-131 kph MAX on the speedo in 5th.

The above speeds are all speedo Indicated. Stock R15 will do 151kph on the speedo and a true 141kph with stock gearing!

Have never been able to go above 108/128kmph respectively. (weight, excess of it)

By the time you see 109/129 you would already be hitting limiter as the bike would be accelerating still.

AFAIK the limit is 90db for any exhaust. Ab I've not measured, but I tell any cop that its under 90db. Not that any cop's stopped me for the exhaust...

The 6th gear on the R15 is like an overdrive. So any resistance gets amplified here. Like wind drag, tire pressures, chain status, air filter status, etc. Tuck in properly, and it will go to 135. No worries.

Bro, I think only one model of the filter works, the 1060. Others don't fit that well. But don't go for it. Waste of money. Doesn't give you a worthy gain.
